ARR Gil Cap Reduction

The prices on things in FFXIV were getting really high and way out of hand which is probably why they wanted to do this change. Nobody is really effected negatively by it because everyone is getting scaled down to 1/10 of what they had. The economy will be scaled back too by players.

I think Yoshi-P was made a brave decision since this gil-remove-last-digit thing is hit each current players emotion..very hard.

But they MUST do this or else the new player will see the price of item super expensive and they might feel like it will take forever to get to buy something that having good stat... and SE don't want that thing to happen.

It's funny that some of item will be super cheap in ARR eg.
- Water Shard... for 2 gil
- Wind Shard for 8 gil
- Buying chicken egg from NPC for.... 1 gil?

And yeah that will raise another problem since I think no one will be crazy enough to set price that damn low... it's very pointless.

I think in ARR ppl will set price the same as in FFXIV at current state anyway, but since new player will hard to get a gil on hand... So the demand and supply will make the price match the right one.. but I think it will not as low as 1 digit because it very pointless to sell thing that low..

So yeah, IMO, the real value of gil after ARR is not really 1/10th down.. its depend on market supply/demand. But it will hit us, old players, directly at our heart.

I am not talking about materials I am talking about gear. Also SE told us they would not take anything from us, now they are taking 9/10 of all of our gil. Not only did they lie to us, but they also hurt the majority of the loyal player base who has supported them for the past 2 years in the creation of 2.0.

Just bec you buy materials from an npc to make that gear that you can doesnt mean it makes it right nor does it change the fact that the majority of the players do not purchase from NPCs. I am not talking about materials I am talking strictly about gear. Just bec you can make all your gear doesnt mean that is the case for everyone els. So how about you stop acting biased towards the situation and start thinking about the player base as a whole instead of only yourself.

I give up. If I was from SE, I would be appalled discovering this is my player base.

The value of gil right now is incredibly weak due to how easy it is to get. This is just a balancing issue.

What a lot of people seem to be dismissing is that this is being applied to everybody. People with more gil than me are losing 90% of their gil, just as the person who has less than me is losing 90% of their gil. Nobody is getting screwed out of anything by this, it's just making the big numbers go away.

with many items that we have in FF XIV realm, the economy will be super competitive, and the price will be more reasonable, because we will have lesser gap between lower bound and upper bound of the market price.

this will discourage overpriced items and extreme undercutting.

and also consider this, crafting/gathering speed will be increased (due to engine restructure), so probably items entering economy will be twice as fast than now. thanks god we will have better market/AH system, so the economy will flourish.
