Lmao.
Oh, PandaTaru. You crack me up sometimes.
Ironic how you call me a troll, coming out of nowhere with unprovoked, unrelated assaults like that.
The troll offended because he's being trolled... just look at your sig hun, you'll find out who the real troll is. Mocking people because they see things differently than you do doesn't make you smarter, smarty.
Offended? Hardly.
Amused perhaps.
"What's even sadder is Tiger Woods, who doesn't know rugby, trying to teach people Golf...." is what you're basically saying. One doesn't have to do with the other so this is a fail argument and troll.
Aside from that, the only unknown thing that we have, is how we go about earning gil in ARR. How much do quests/missions/leves/mobs/NMs/etc give us compared to 1.0 is what really decides how this gil influx affects us. If people choose to buy things at 1.0 prices without checking the proportional change to ARR prices then they deserve to be broke, plain and simple.
Except this isn't a matter of opinion vs opinion. This is a matter of Fact vs Opinion, where Noctis is using the facts and people are refusing to understand.
Few problems with that.People saying that we aren't losing gil at all. That 500k gil in A Realm Reborn will be the 5 million I have now. I doubt that severly. Cause most people are dumb, including myself. They will make items just as expensive now in ARR. So I will be losing 4.5 million gil.
*When everyone has reduced gil, no one is going to want to pay the inflated 1.0 prices for things.
*Regardless of the denomination change, the community will have to re-evaluate the value of all items in 2.0. Most facets of the game are changing in one way or another, this will change how useful certain items are.
*New players will be making gil at the 2.0 rates, not the 1.0 rates. If people try to sell items at the 1.0 rates then they are losing out on business from all of the new players. They simply won't be able to afford those prices.
Prices may not come out to be exactly 1/10th of what they are now but they will be reduced to reflect the change. There are people out there who are already planning to use the 2.0 price rates so those that don't follow simply won't be able to sell anything.
All true. Even old players wouldn't be able to afford 1.0 prices in 2.0. Not unless they currently have hundreds of millions. But are those people really going to squander away all that wealth in 2.0 for some insanely priced items? Of course not. Wealthy people don't stay wealthy by chance.Few problems with that.

Anyone who thinks they will be able to sell things in 2.0 for anywhere close to current prices is in for a very rude awakening.
Actually, extremely likely. What did you rent do in 2009 when the dollar deflated about half a percent, opposed to increasing the normal 3-5%? It sure as hell didn't go down, if anything, it probably went up. Why? The dollar was worth more then. Greed. Plain and simple. People are greedy and people are impatient. The sellers want to make more and the buyers don't want to wait weeks or months for the market to properly deflate. And when you have 400k, or even in my case, 70k. Paying 200g for a silver ore is nothing. Do you honestly think they're going to cost 20g? Are you that naive? If that's all people are getting for them, no ones going to mine them to sell. Then the supply decreases, and the demand increases as people can't acquire them easily, possibly propelling them OVER the current 200g price temporarily. It may be slightly less than 200g by the end of it but it will never be 20g, unless you're the one selling them.Just cuz you still have the gil to buy stuff doesn't mean you'll be willing to buy them 10x overpriced.
I have over 4mil now. Elect rum ore goes for about 2k each. I am as likely to buy electrum ore for 2k in ARR, where I'll have 400k, as I am likely to buy it for 20k now.
Not. Very. Likely.
Greed will always take priority over logic/sense/"what should be". Politics is the obvious example.
There is a reason the housing market crashed here in the U.S. when the economy tanked. The money wasn't there to buy for the asking prices. Even reducing prices wasn't enough. There was simply not enough money to be had (no lending, lost jobs, etc).Actually, extremely likely. It isn't rocket science. If players can't afford ten million dollar weapons because that is all they have or they don't even have that to begin with, nobody will by them.
