exactly i felt the same way but as few days went by i got over it and said if its going to make 2.0 better then why not. SE from a business stand point see's this needs to happen and we all know why since the newcomers will have little to no chance in getting started and then just give up and quit. many ppl claim massive amounts of ppl will quit once this happens which when it does really doesn't matter to SE since their target audience is hundreds of thousands to even millions of new ppl. would it really hurt if they loose lets say 15k ppl roughly by taking away their gil and hindering them from over pricing items in 2.0 or let them keep their gil and piss off the possible huge audience their trying to get? its a simple dollars choice piss off 15k ppl and keep 500k happy or more or let 15k ppl stay happy and piss off 500k just for an example.

and once i heard this from SE i really got a kick in the ass (after getting over my disappointment)to buy gear, since its easy to get gil via farming, items to npc them or craft with or sell on wards along with leves spam.
