Sheathes for Weapons in FFXIV:ARR

After watching the special talk session I wanted to discuss this matter with you:

[Mocchi] A certain number of players are requesting this, but will sheathes also be added?
[Yoshida] I’ll take it into consideration…with the programmers, animators and character modelers.

[Yoshida] I know that a sheathe is vital to perform a quick draw with a katana.

So, what do you think? Do you like the way you draw your weapon? Or do you want to see your swords (and hopefully someday: greatswords) coming out of sheathes instead?

Personally I think having sheathes will be a very nice improvement to weapons models, (when they're done right). And I hope they don't make sheathes for Kanatas only (like in XI if I remember correctly), either they make them for all weapons (katanas, swords, daggers and greatswords) or for none.

But then again you might disagree with me, since having sheathes might make the character model messy if done half-heartedly (which some people might think).

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matters.

I want sheaths for weapons. I'm sure they can do it nicely and it will be safer for my character and the citizens of Eorzea.
I almost get my throat slit every time I go into town and tall races cut me off.

im asking myself what will they do about the chocobo companion system, to prevent people to have their chocobo companion out in fight all the time... etc.

questions like that.. and then in the live-show they ask if sheathes are going to be implemented??!! seriously... such "important questions"....

Yes to sheaths! They could work for "Quick Draw" and make a good defensive equipment.
