Yeah, this thread is probably 99% kneejerk replies, and then people have time to think about it.
Oh i can grasp the concept, but Se needs to re-think this issue, even if prices drop on npcs that doesn't mean people in the market wards will, so say right now a LW craft synth takes 1 buffalo hide, and that hide now is 4.3k per, and not available via npc, so someone has to actually farm this item, it wont decrease in price, most likely it will go from 4.3 to 12k per because people gonna wanna make back all the gil they were raped from at the change.
The only thing taking gil from people will do is drive the player eco up, and if they're trying to decrease it then this is the worst way of doing it.
You thought RMT issue was a problem before, wait till this happens, you don't think there will be 500 mil same looking characters named sdfsdfsdf sdfdsfsdf on your server, lagging up each ather doing the same leve over and over to remake back what SE took from them?
And ya I spent time on this game making money so I could be lazy and buy materials and not have to waste my time farming stuff, I get 0 exp on, so ya this blows major, I have over 100 mil and it took me a long time to achieve this, and your god damn right I'm pissed off after reading this bullshit.

Your money, the RMT's money, has gone no where. It has be consolidated into a more concentrated unit.Oh i can grasp the concept, but Se needs to re-think this issue, even if prices drop on npcs that doesn't mean people in the market wards will, so say right now a LW craft synth takes 1 buffalo hide, and that hide now is 4.3k per, and not available via npc, so someone has to actually farm this item, it wont decrease in price, most likely it will go from 4.3 to 12k per because people gonna wanna make back all the gil they were raped from at the change.

And yes because all npcs, monsters, and quests reward at 1/10 the rate, market prices WILL go down (though some may need time, as I assure you some people will try to juke you into retarded 1.0 pricing).

This is a fairly decent way to handle RMT. it's effectively removing 90% of gil from circulation. most of which is probably on RMT characters.
The economy right now is way out of alignment right now anyway. the majority of the gil I make comes from NPC sources. the majority of stuff I buy is from PCs. I'm pretty sure a lot of other people are the same way.
So no gil is really exiting the system. there is also not really any gil sinks to remove money from the system. (and by that I mean things that require you to give gil to NPCs) the biggest one right now is the taxes on the wards. easily remedied through trading.
I personally think this is a good move. This is a classic example of why some people need other people to make their decisions for them.

And how? Everything is divided by 10. Again it's like when we moved from our national currency to euro. Did we became X times more poor because of that? Or did it have any direct impact on the economy itself? No.
Your 10 gil in a 100 trillion gils economy are worth exactly the same as your 1 gil in a 10 trillion economy.
(I used 100 and 10 trillion as random, could use any value, wouldn't change anything.)

Exactly. The difference here is that all wealth and value has been scaled along with the change, as opposed to one country's/continent's economy in relation to the rest of the world, thereby affecting... Nobody*!And how? Everything is divided by 10. Again it's like when we moved from our national currency to euro. Did we became X times more poor because of that? *(except perhaps RMTs whose plan was to take in-game wealth and translate it to RL-wealth)
This is pretty much like telling everyone that all the CG models, backgrounds, weather, etc. is all going to be scaled down to 1:10 size. Because everything is still the same size relative to everything else in the game, with no special exceptions, it doesn't actually affect anyone.

you realize this isn't touching the rmt at all don't you? if the rmt is selling 1mil for 10% or w/e then afterwards they'll sell 100k for 10$. everyone loses 90% of the gil they have to the gil becomes more valuable. in fact this will increase the people getting stuff from the rmt's since gil is harder to come by. it's the perception is reality. This is a fairly decent way to handle RMT. it's effectively removing 90% of gil from circulation. most of which is probably on RMT characters.

the higher the perception is that they aren't making progress towards getting gil the higher the chances they turn to getting them in other ways.
