    2 Different Gear Sets = 2 Different Items > Terrible Idea

    Foxclon: For gearset do we need to prepare same items for diffferent gear slots?

    Yoshi P: Right now you will have to get 2 for example you have 2 gear sets to be realistic. We’re trying to make it possible but for UI it’s going to be confusing so right now we’re talking about where you can use the macro to move those items between gear sets so it’s going to bit technical. We want to ask the players and get feedback for this one.

    Foxclon: So for now right now if you want same items in 2 gear sets you need to get 2 of the same item?

    YoshiP: Yes at this time that’s it but we want to get players feedback for this one.
    This is an absolutely horrible idea. Theres no reason for this other than not properly implementing the system. Nobody wants to get different sets of Darklight or +1 gear to put on seperate sets for classes.

    It was exactly what I was afraid of when I heard about this system and I do NOT dig it. Can anyone name an advantage to a system like this? I just think this is a really bad idea and want to get that out there before they make this mistake.

    I think there is a missunderstanding.. esp since it is not possible to have 2 rare/ex items.

    You will have to create separate gear sets per class/job. However, this is one of the functions we would like feedback on during the Alpha test. Please be sure to test it out and let us know what you think!
    so wait for the alpha then they will change it =)

    Agreed.... I would like to also add that saying 'Give it/them time' isn't constructive at all, and doesn't help us or them. They use our feedback and comments while they use their 'time' to fix and adjust the idea.

    I think it is how it is because the gearsets are items that are removed from the inventory and placed as gear. Equipped gear will no longer be part of the inventory, and it is the same for gearsets. If it is going to be different, gearsets cant be removed from the inventory before they are equipped. I think.

    Well what scared me was the fact he wants player feedback, not more time to finish/fix it. The fact that he blatantly said this is how it works, and we want player feedback on it, is why I was so harsh in stating my direct feelings toward that system.

    It would irritate me alot if I had to use macros to transfer gear set items, to another gear set to equip it. Thats almost like what we have now : /

    I almost feel like there's a misunderstanding or mistranslation here, given the difference between Reinheart's translation and the rep translation, and I kind of want to play the game before I give feedback about something...

    But if it -is- the case that you can't have the same item in 2 different gear sets, that's a -huge- problem and something they need to address as soon as possible before the launch of the game. I'm glad they said they were open to player feedback on this one in specific. >_>

    You should just be able to open up multiple gear set windows at a time and create a drag and drop "link" between two slots. It can be stored in the database so that the gear set knows to look at the linked item instead of on the space.

    EXACTLY. I really do hope thats what we end up with.

    The problem is how do they make the item not take up inventory space, and be assigned to multiple gear sets at the same time?

    Say you have Gloves assigned to DRG, and WAR. You are playing BLM at the time and not using the gloves. Where are these Gloves actually found on your person if you were to try to NPC them for example? What menu do you go to take them from your character?

    I see how this can be confusing for them to implement well but they really need to come up with some gear sharing system for sets AND still managa to keep these set items from taking inventory space in a 100 item inventory.
