Yeah no thanks on that one. I watched my GF build her place in skyrim and in less than a day it was a mansion. In no way would I want anything FF to be like that. Absolutely no sense of accomplishment when things are that easy.Since this topic is generally about housing, I just wanted to say I enjoy Skyrim's method of building your own home by gathering and synthing the mats to create the house's framework, rooms, and other extra stuff.
Better than a gil sink, which for some reason a lot of players seem to want.
The rate at which something can be obtained doesnt have to carry over in ones example of a system they liked.
You can maintain accomplishment and use the posters suggested system. Besides as it is now I'm pretty sure its similar to what he said anyways - expect that you can get large sections done by just gil - and not having to change some things over into material and such (which really is still just more gil).
