    Energy Gauge for Jumps

Sorry if this is a dead horse topic, but just a small request: I think it would be nice to see an energy gauge of sorts for jumps. Basically it would recharge over time (and quite quickly), but it limits people from bunny hopping, which to me always felt kind of silly.

Not sure how people feel about this, but if this gets enough support maybe we'll see this added? Who knows.

Edit: mistake about GW2-- the stamina gauge is used for dashing, not jumping.

I am just curious (being that I use an XBOX controller on my PC) what button is for jumping? All of my buttons have assigned functions right now..

lolwut. have you even played gw2? you can spam jump relentlessly, forever, without consequence.

and people like you claim jumping has no point, but exactly what point does this system have? wasted development time and money just to implement a feature to put a damper on a feature simply because you don't like it?

can we put an energy gauge on every single person making stupid pointless moaning posts in this forum? surely you'd all be at zero for some months to come

Far as I know there's no energy gauge for jumping in GW2, just for dodge-rolls. As for them in ARR I disagree, jumping actually isn't supposed to have any effect beyond aesthetics. Jump around like an idiot, or never jump at all. At most we could see achievements for jumping, like maybe jumping from point A-to-B to click on a spot or look at something could unlock it. Beyond that they've already said it won't have any impact on the game itself.

If it was designed so that when you jump, your speed decreases a bit from whatever the full-tilt speed is, it might deter some from mindlessly spam-jumping while traveling from point A to point B for the sake of boredom. Would it stop that entirely? No, but you'd just be left with the people who have that kind of time to waste and aren't in parties where they'd have other people waiting on their stupid jumping butts to catch up. If your bored jumping habits meant party members had to wait on you to take twice as long to get somewhere, you might find yourself kicked out of parties more often. X)

I don't agree that there should be cooldowns on movement outside of battle or outside of active mode. People spam things (like Goobbue calling or Moogle-weapon squeaking) frankly, I think jump-spam is the least annoying.
