Steampunk Phantom Train - NM idea - Quest ideas - alternative transportation

Just try to imagine:

All cities connected with old railways tracks (G > LL would be underground)and there are a couple small train stations in between.

sometimes at night... there would be a thick fog and you would hear a distant train horn that almost sound like a howling beast.
Then you know... the phantom train is coming!
The train would materialize at a random station somewhere on the world map and let people board the wagons.
Then the train would take off and take you to the next station but during the ride you will have to fight mobs and NM.



The train wagons could have rank restrictions, 10-20, 20-30 and so on..

Needless to mention that the train interior, despite being spooky, dusty and full of spiderwebs would be spacious and beautifully decorated in a very old and classic style. you would hear a fitting music as well.

Also there could be a lot of sub quests to get specific items in order to enter the train, such as train tickets and special coins to call out specific NM.

Once the train reaches the destination (maybe in 10-15 min) it will disappear again.

God damn I love FF6. Not that i'm against the idea or anything, but you're losing the magic of the phantom train fight if your character isn't running as fast as the train in front of it trying to kill it :P.

I would really like a train to ride in this game. Plus if there were different cars for different ranks with different enemies in them and perhaps a NM at the end that might be spawnable from points or items gained from the enemies you kill on the train. I mean, I'd ride it all day. Hahaha. Also, kudos to FF6 reference about running faster than the train. Hey, Sabin and co. were very athletic...

It's a fun idea they could implement a lot of different ways. Kind of reminds me of the pirates attacking the ferry in FFXI the way you describe it too. Sabin..... all you needed was a Fenix down.
