Why, after complaining about the 1.x CE, would you come in asking about an ARR CE?
And as to the OP, you answered your own question/request.

Life is a journey. i have a few other posts where i kinda answered my own question before anyone else commented. I can admit i make mistakes. My bad.
as for the ARR CE, my son and wife are interested in playing and would like to get at least one more copy. Why not see wht the CE offers this time around and decide if its worth it.
The only thing I was ever disappointed about from the CE was that NA CE didn't get the map, because the map was pretty much the best part.

GLD is not GLA! But apparently, it IS GSM!
I complained too but there are definitely things I would love from one.
High DPI, quality construction box [with no plastic cover], resilient packaging materials that doesn't make everything simply fall out of it, a real artbook, and something that could be useful to players who bought the CE and not just discarded instantly [like a mount or reusable visual effect], and a soundtrack.
These are the ones I have on my desk currently.
I see a lot of thumbs up for people happy with their CEs or somehow justifying the quality of moldy mugs, certificates that didn't work [and were silly in the first place], so maybe there's just a lack of understanding why people are unhappy.
Each of these boxes comes with their own special things, but among all of them are large high quality art books, high dpi boxes - some with intricate designs, mouse pads [the irony of not being able to use them because they're pretty], soundtracks, dvds or blu rays, and occasionally awesome USB drives like the Diablo skull crystal magnetic USB or the Starcraft 2 dogtag USB. I'd also like to mention Hellgate London's high quality box/packaging.
There are more I could list, but hopefully that enlightens some people to the disappointment surrounding the CE, whether with regards to the packaging [FFXIV's looks cheaply made, was damaged straight from shipping because of the flimsy materials used in its construction, and the horrible plastic covering necessary to keep everything from falling out because they didn't design the packaging nicely, moldy mugs for Europe, the ridiculously small "journal" which some people refer to as an "artbook," the downright silly certificate or the DVD filled with many jokes told with straight faces. The one obvious benefit of the FFXIV CE is having the buddy "passes" aka full fledged CD keys.
If I can't convince some of you [not the quoted poster] of the quality of other CE's compared to FFXIV's from that, there is just no way I can convince you. Heck, I think the Legacy offers are better than the CE [in fact, amazingly cool].

I wouldn't mind 2.0 beta access for paying 70 for this game :P

Thank you for putting into such eloquent words how i felt. I'm not trying to be ungrateful or asking for recompense for damage done (i rescind my previous cry for something to differentiate, i got a stupid onion hat i can wave around while i ride my Gobbu. lol), i only hope SE improves upon what they offer in future CE's and that they let us know if they will be doing a CE for ARR.I complained too but there are definitely things I would love from one.

Compared to some of the recent collectors edition, it was very lacking, but you get what your money is worth, my fave was GW2, the 7inch statue is amazing, paid double a XIV CE though lol.
I got the little mug as I live in UK, turns out your not supposed to actually use it tho lol but i have plenty of times XD.

In reality I think SE should release a CE for ARR. it is a relaunch so why not a new CE?
I'd probably buy it again for w/e goodies come in the box. buy anyone who purchased a 1.0 CE should get w/e ingame items the new CE gets. unfortunately the ingame CE items came with a separate registration, so there's no real way to tell. maybe offer a ticket to buy a digital collectors edition for a discount when you send out the new software for ARR for all of us who already have the game.
I'm not sure how they set it up internally but it's possible they know which registration codes went out with CEs if that's the case it should be relatively easy to credit accounts.
If not, oh well. if there is a CE for ARR i'll probably pick it up anyway.
and for the love of all that is good in the world can we PLEASE get digital copies we can link to our online SE account? the original discs were not durable and had so many defects it was laughable. I'm very glad in my paranoia i made an ISO of it when i first put the disc in so i had a back-up copy when i got my new PC a couple years later.
I registered all of my blizzard games on bnet and i can DL them whenever i want to. the only other place i buy PC games is steam. I'd love to be able to do that with all of my SE games too.

This! i will be buying a PS3 copy anyway, so why not make it a CE that would be worth it.
I had an issue with my disk too. i lent my brother the disks so he could use the buddy pass, forgot about it for a long time, then i wanted to get legacy status and my old computer died so i needed to reinstall. my brother lost my disks and when i contacted SE for what i should do they said, "buy a new copy"... quite an unsatisfactory answer. i ended up finding a torrent just so i could install the game again.and for the love of all that is good in the world can we PLEASE get digital copies we can link to our online SE account? the original discs were not durable and had so many defects it was laughable.
