I play solo and all it took was a single tell in Uldah for someone to offer their help with that quest.I ran around for 3 hrs as my anima was low to get all the recruit starter quests done for the Grand companies. I finished with the adders because that is who I wanted to join. I accepted my first mission , Emperial Devices ( gridania) , I go to the cave it asked me to travel to.... and bam, roadblock.. I HAVE to be in a party of 2 or 4, I'm like wtf!!! So I try to calm down from the annoyance and find me another person to party in there with.... I tried for 2 hours, 2 frikin hours... and nobody would help me.. hell i ONLY seen 3 people in the entire south section of gridania -_-. Thanks SE for killing solo play, for a minute I actually thought you had improved upon it... but it turns out you can't enjoy much still without being in some elite linkshell or hunting down someone for hours to do a quest. I am dissapointed and really not having high hopes for ARR now and possibly won't return. I like the party and team aspect of gaming but I also enjoy solo work that can be just as fun even if the reward isnt as great
I'm in with OP I hate how we have to shout/look for enough people for hours just to DO something not to mention getting it done
even if FF XIV is meant for grouping they should never leave solo play cos not everyone have 24/7 to play this game
I think this is the reason why FF XIV never get new players to play
without group and you cant do anything thats the reason most people quit
If it is this hard to find someone to do these quests with, then I fear you are going to be very very sad when it comes to finding people to do end game with.
I suggest you either re-think your approach to finding people to do content with (this is a major aspect of final fantasy), or hope that Content Manager in 2.0 will work well for you.
ppl ppl when did yall realize that this is game over its done shuted out the new players did yall not notice the finial char save is nov 1 2012 and shut down on the 11 thats 8 weeks away and they are adding crap to get as many ppl to quit this game b4 then so that ther server load will drop and less they have to fix since they need more attention on arr so go play another game if your just starting to come back or just starting and wait for arr to come out im also doing the same ill be back then or if i get into beta then ill play that and i cant w8 long enough im so exsited for arr since iv got all that i want to do in the game done and im no noob i have all 7 jobs done and started working on crafting a bit too late for that since i wont even get much done in that time frame ill either play 13 and 13-2 or play guild wars 2 which looks almost like arr not the same but arr will have something similare to it

I... don't know why Drag but something about that post annoys me. I'm not sure why.
Nah, you start out solo for barely an hour of the game in some of the FFs, rest you're already with allies just not in your fighting party, so he was actually correct with his sarcasm, only solo FF game I recall is Crystal Chronicles, and that was purely to give a multiplayer aspect.
crisis core, and dirge of cerberus is another two I can think of that is pure solo in the VII series.Nah, you start out solo for barely an hour of the game in some of the FFs, rest you're already with allies just not in your fighting party, so he was actually correct with his sarcasm, only solo FF game I recall is Crystal Chronicles, and that was purely to give a multiplayer aspect.
You're just denying the irrefutable facts.
I gave you three valid points, yet the only thing you provided was sarcastic responses.
I'll be happy to listen to your awkward arguments next time when you have one, but I really prefer not to.
