I seriously doubt Atomos drained the Aetherites. If that were the case, we wouldn't be able to teleport there at all anymore. They would be dead crystals.

Instead, we can teleport there cost-free and they're a new golden color. If anything, I would say he supercharged (over aspected?) the Aetherites, making them even stronger.

I would agree with this one, if you look at the overaspected crystal icon its an orange colour so it would be logical that the aetherites have become overaspected.

That actually would tie in to them breaking free of the ground and needing to be chained down even more. Lots of fun speculation going on, though. Can't wait to see the changes... (though I secretly think they made them free to travel to accommodate everyone who ported to a camp and died not knowing atomos was there.)
