I was in the same boat when I started playing. The running/turning seemed sluggish. Eh, I don't care. Then again, I've never been much of a fanatic for over the top animations. Rpgs stopped being as fun for me when graphics became a higher priority than quality writers.

I agree with everything you just said this is why i don't play most games all they are is who can be flashiest now.I was in the same boat when I started playing. The running/turning seemed sluggish. Edit: @ Jynx enough people experienced this clunky game at lunch and hated it. It's in several reviews how this game was and still is a clunky mess.

How is a mechanical jutting around a more fluid experience? Speeding up the ease on the animation or simply allowing you to cut out of the animation with another movement would be a simple way to make it work with faster controls. The animations were never that great to begin with, they are okay but really come off as clunky and sluggish. I for one am glad to see they are going away for a more fluid moving game. I don't want to turn left and then watch my character herp derp his way slowly to the left. He should be turning as soon as I hit the button as should my camera.

Just because they're removing them doesn't mean they can't add them back later. And seriously, is THIS going to be the dealbreaker? You people are being nit picky over animations when we don't even know the specifics of the gameplay yet! I think it's safe to say we should wait to find out more about combat balancing and other things before we start bitching. Graphics DO NOT make the game fun. FFXIV Initial Launch = case and point.

Okay, that's a cheap way to dismiss someone's opinion. My point is that after spending months paying a $10 subscription people are acting like they'll ditch the game over a small removal of animation. We really should hold SE to high standards, but a slight aesthetic change is not the end of the world. Do you want the game to work or just look cool? I guess if people do leave over it they'll be replaced by low-end PC users who value the ability to play more.

No. The animations are not a dealbreaker. I'm just annoyed that people will be so accepting of a clear downgrade instead of a fix.Just because they're removing them doesn't mean they can't add them back later. I really really do hope they add them in later, but I'm not going to deal with the idea that I should just keep quiet about it, and I don't think it's a good idea to launch the game in an incomplete state again.
No, that was just an example to show that not everything is set in stone, and bad decisions can be subverted as long as people speak up and tell the company what's wrong. I'm sorry, I could have been more clear about that.
it will be incomplete ... they can't finish it in the right time , they already said that summoner won't be avaiable at launch .
But you can't say that's the devs fault ...

Don't just throw around wild theories. Maybe if you didn't I would know what you're talking about other than being emotional over animations that add nothing to the game play and last about 0.5 seconds.
