Playing the current FINAL FANTASY XIV until the end of service
Thanks for the link, so apparently I'm going to pay for an extra month >.> my renew date is 29 lol
But most others wont XD
don't worry you will have the 29 extra days for ARR but i hope that they add an option so if you don't play the game at launch you don't lose the days .

The original roadmap stated that we will receive a 30 day free trial period for ARR. Now whether this is in conjunction with Beta testing or at the official release remains to be seen.

This isn't about the free trial. We want to know whether the extra few days we'd have to pay for to be subscribed during the cut off for October will carry over to 2.0.
For example, if I have to pay a whole month's subscription on the 29th, then October wouldn't be "free" because I'm basically ending up paying for that entire month. What I want to know is whether or not those 29 extra days I paid for would carry over into 2.0.
Obviously they're not obligated to carry over anyone's extra days, but it'll definitely be the deciding factor for whether or not I renew my subscription before 2.0 launches.

Sorry for my misunderstanding. If I read the post correctly SE will procede with normal billing up to 23:59:59 on 29 Sept. If you have a billing date prior to that then you will fall under normal billing. This appears to be more of an administrative procedure, not a boon to current subscribers, as SE was probably required to provide their billing partners a firm shutdown date so that they will not accidently bill after a certain date. I assume the date was purely arbitrary. This isn't about the free trial. don't know if they said it or no but it wouldn't be logic at all , you paid for 30 days , you have 30 days .

I totally agree that it wouldn't make sense not to do it, but prorating fees or giving free days in the future is a VERY important detail. If they didn't write out plainly that they're going to do either of those things, you can't just assume they will.
