Clearly you have never played WoW before lol; due to the PvP nature of the game there were servers that featured large groups of players (hundreds or more) that specifically played on the server together in hopes of being the ones to complete world/game firsts such as downing the most difficult bosses before anyone else had on the planet.
Like I said, I was just checking to see what kind of server types have been unofficially created, it seems like for the most part there isn't really any thoughtline towards certain servers being for specific play-styles. That's good, makes me feel like I can stay where I am and still have a fairly easy time finding good social-type LinkShells.
Ok so you have 25 peoples in your guild , but the rest of the server don't want to play the hardcore way sooooo you will not be able to do the endgame content fast ?
What is a social server? I'm quite befuddled.
I think you'd have to make it a global server but you could probably get SE to make 1 RP server.
Hahaha, i can see from several posts that people are oblivious to what occurs in other MMOs, and I must say I'm rather glad. It just reminds me again why I liked FFXI so much, it is unique and doesn't behave like other MMOs do at a community level. The fact is, the majority of FFXI/XIV players are really awesome and friendly people who make the game great more than the gameplay does. Thanks for the responses everyone, I can see now that there is no need to be concerned about what server I play on and that more or less answers my original question.
Thanks again everyone!
err did i missed something ?
Nope, my question has been answered. There are no unnofficial server types based on all the answers i've received... though I must confess since the few posters here represent far less than 1% of the entire FFXIV population you all may be quite wrong. But I'll just let it be, I'm content on Masamune and will find people to group with soon enough. ^^
actually there is only ragnarok that is unofficialy the EU serv .
