We're talking JP friends here. And its better if you just learn what to do without every instruction being called out to you . . .

Same here. I am only in Japanese Linkshells and none of us use voice chat. We use the chat log and macros for certain events just as your friends do.I dont know any of my friends using Voice chat services for this game. They have macros set up for know any of my friends using Voice chat services for this game. They have macros set up for certain things that happen in boss fights. And dungeon runs and strategies are explained with nice pictures in blogs

The other day I saw someone shouting in Ul'dah about forming a party, and he said English-only. Other people proceeded to call him a racist even though I'm pretty sure they were just being sarcastic trolls.
Point is, it's not just restricted to Japanese people doing this sort of thing.. however, I for one am not bothered by it at all. The Auto-Translate system is dodgy at best, with only very basic communication possible. If given the chance, I would jump at a party that was English-only.. sorry if that is upsetting to people or what have you, but I enjoy just being able to type and have other people understand what I'm saying. I'm sure the Japanese feel similar, we're all just human after all.
What I hate is when I get purely auto-translated party invites randomly when I'm out on my WHM, they contain what must be half of the auto-translate words in the entire dictionary sometimes.. it makes me nervous and sometimes I ignore them outright because I'm afraid the person doesn't speak any English. Someone mentioned a few pages in that they like the way shouts "look" with the neat and colored brackets.. well trust me, there's a better chance of convincing me to party or help you or what have you if you just speak English.
I guess it's unfortunate if you're playing at a time of day where your language group isn't prevalent, but ultimately I just don't see an issue with people wanting to party with their own language group, and there still should be parties available out there where people are mingling so I don't think it should be any sweat off people's back.
I would never go out in World of Warcraft and party with a bunch of people I couldn't communicate with extensively (even if there was a basic auto-translate function), so maybe that impacts the way I see it. I just want to be able to speak to the other people I play with, I don't think that's entirely unreasonable.

No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.
hahahah i love how people defend A-holes that kick people like this. i LOVE ARR because i will never have to go through this again. Good luck people cause i wont need it.
Sometimes you dont need to talk about anything, especially for moogles, even if they dont say the killing order to be done, one with 3 fingers in his forehead would attack whatever everyone is attacking, and at this points theres only just a few ppl that doesnt know what to do.I actually was kicked, a few minutes ago, by someone doing a moogle pug. I was invited, I said "Hello" in auto translate. They ask "Can you speak japanese?" I reply "I'm sorry no." Without another word, I was booted. No "I'm sorry, JP only" or anything..just...bam...booted. It's incredibly annoying and frustrating for NA players that play late nights.

Thats how I do JP parties, how'd you guess?Sometimes you dont need to talk about anything, especially for moogles, even if they dont say the killing order to be done, one with 3 fingers in his forehead would attack whatever everyone is attacking, and at this points theres only just a few ppl that doesnt know what to do.
He should have said Yes, or just /yes emote and go about his business.

A majority of ppl love playing with ppl from other regions. Theres just a select few ppl that are racist......... regionicst..... nationalist? something.

sorry cant see the image from work, what content was it? for normal everyday content I would agree with you, for stuff like Garuda though a language barrier can really hurt your chances at success.

Just throwing this in here that I just saw (can't be bothered editing names out)
People never, I say never single people out over jobs for something like SB parties do they.... OH OH and I have proof this would never happen.
