There is no difference. I don't know why people are crying about this. Especially anyone who's been playing since FFXI.Signing up for an Endgame Shell: "You MUST have all classes to 50 even DoH/DoL."
Signing up for an Endgame Shell: "You MUST use Teamspeak/Vent/Mumble."
Shouting for Primals: "<Primal> <Do you need it?> 1/8, BLM, BRD, WHM and Tank Please."
Shouting for CC SB: "BLMs and BRDs only please."
Shouting for Regular SB parties: "BLMs, BRD, WHM and WARs please."
Shouting for Dungeons: "BLMs, BRDs, WHM and Tank (WAR) please."
So what's the difference with Japanese players shouting for others who can speak Japanese and what pretty much everyone else does? Showing a preference? It's about communication even in regular parties, so those who say "You don't need to talk in x" just because you choose to be anti-social doesn't mean everyone else view that belief.

when english players call for <veteran trade> you realize all those late night jp players have NO idea what your talking about either![]()

Amen. Sort of sicking to see people with a "Japanese can't do no wrong" mentality.
Everyone's human. There are various factors to weigh in why people with language barriers don't want to play together or want to but otherwise have difficulty playing coordinated content.
I don't even bother with Japanese shouts on Ragnarok since the majority that I see are in Japanese. I totally understand that. Take for instance Nael Darnus fight. No one has the time to try to try to fiddle around with the auto-translator to get someone to move up the stairs or down them, huddle up together, etc.
I've no issue with players that don't speak English; I enjoy playing with them, however I would rather play with someone who can speak my language and understand specific instructions when given during true group content such as speed runs, primal, etc, without an archaic translation tool(or god forbid Google translate :P)
The new localization of the servers will split German, French, English and Japanese speaking people (or at least it sounds like it will) which is a shame since I like the diversity we had since FFXI times, back then I had a 3rd party tool that allowed me to type in Japanese inside FFXI and was able to communicate with them, I'm Mexican myself and I like Japanese people ( ^^)v and that being said makes me feel bad each time I get rejected for not being Japanese, it didn't happen that often in FFXI because of the language tool but in XIV I haven't found any tool or setting like that ( T.T)

as if only JP do that, at least they are honest in the recruitment process
ex: joins party with 7 english speakers and 1 spanish (non-english)-speaking guy. Do you think people in the group would bother use auto-translate constantly so he can understand? No, they blame him for not speaking english.
But then Japanese people should welcome you and talk in your language just so you can join them and do some cool stuff. I see why they won't bother, much easier speaking in their language. and I know people assume that because English is the "de facto" world language, everybody should speak it but in practice you won't find much great english-speaking gamers there (know this from fact)

I'm kinda confused over OP. He wants this to change...but how? We're dealing with human nature here - SE can't do anything about the language barrier except for more auto-translate, and as people have said, there's only so much you can do with it before it doesn't help.
Personally, my experience with JPs have been very nice. I HAVE been in a few Japanese parties where I was not wanted, but they did in a process which was not at all mean. It normally consisted of:
Leader: (Japanese)?
Me: (No.) (English) (I don't speak any Japanese.)
Leader: (That's too bad.) (I don't speak any English.) (I'm sorry.) (Party) (Exit) ?
Me: (Thank you.) (Let's play together again sometime!)
Leader: (Thank you.) (I'm sorry.) (/bow)
...with a few other variants, including emotes and more auto-translate. Of course, that's not to say I was never in any Japanese run parties, and when I was, I made an effort to use Google Translate to communicate, with the understanding that I was using a third-party program to do so. Those parties were typically fine with it, and I've done DH, Moogles, Ifrit and some other content with them. We all have a good laugh when we mess up, and they never blame me for anything, usually discussing how to overcome the problem. In fact, during my nights (I have similar prime time with JPs), I get /tells from them asking me to join a party for some content.
It doesn't hurt to be helpful as well. I vividly remember Castrum Novum - a Japanese party was having trouble past the second gate, and I helped them cure and raise and buff the party. When we got to a safe zone, they asked me if I needed the fight (in Japanese). I responded with google-translate that I was just there to help them, and that I couldn't speak any Japanese, but I would do my best to aid them. They were very happy, /grovelling and saying (Thank you.)!!! a lot. They were also totally cool with me using google translate. In the end, they let me join their party for the instanced fight because a person left after a wipe [I raised them], and even let me explain how the fight worked. I used a mix of Auto-translate and google-translate, but they understood, and we won. I thought they would all return, but they asked me if I wanted to fight the mechs for the drops - they invited me to join them. Needless to say, we lost (some of them returned, and we didn't have a full party) but we all enjoyed it, and by the end, they were trying to use English to speak to me, haha. I still see the LS every once in awhile, and when I wave, they wave back and give a little dance as well, more often then not asking if I needed any help.
I do respect the wishes of parties that want to run with Japanese-speaking people only, which is in a way not unexpected. The search function has an option for JP people - I don't see why a party cannot request for JP in their shouts. But overall, my experience with Japanese parties have been very positive. It's a matter of give and take, in my opinion; you be honest with them, help them out when they need it, and typically they'll do the same to you.
The 22 people that liked the OPs post were incapable of thinking straight...
You cant expect people to go through shit to explain you their strat in a language they don't know..
They cant explain it to ya in JP right?
I can't be laying down my strat to a person that has no idea what im talking about..
dunno how u people do it anyways.
I sometimes explain it in english to english speaking people and they still can't follow/understand instructions lol..
Don't join JP parties OP.

I, personally, do not fault JP players who don't want to play with people who do not speak Japanese. If they don't want to play with me, that is ok. I will play with someone else.
I'm not interested in forcing them to play with me, nor am I interested in playing with people who do not wish to play with me, no matter what the reason.

I would hope if it's a JP party and I'm the only english speaking person, that I would be in a party where I know what to do. Like Ifrit, they shouldn't have to tell me what to do. I know where to stand and when to move.
Now a dungeon, yeah that I wouldn't be surprised if I was booted for that.
I don't get bothered by it, unless I see all that Japanese text, and see my name among it then ww at the end of it. Then I feel like a joke was amade at my expense.

Just type おはよ when you join.
