"Wanted: Godwin Goodgoat": Please get rid of this Leve! It's RMT bait.

    Dear Community Reps and GMs,

Please hear me out. There are a lot of us complaining on the forums because of the RMTs causing playing problems for us La Noscea (for me, it was the insane lag and game crashes with all of the RMTs flooding the area). Someone suggested me to go to Humblehearth in The Black Shroud to level up doing Leves, and I've been there happily ever since. Still, I like Cedarwood because the area was very accessable with Limsa Lominsa nearby.

The RMTs are farming this Leve repeatively 24/7 because of the drops from the monsters and also the pay from the Leve. Is there anything you representatives could do to either change/alter or get rid of this Leve?

Tanaka has already proven that hindering the RMT can also hinder the real players. Altering this leve for RMT will also alter it for the real players that spam this leve. I'm not in favor of changing it at all.

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

I got it once. Yes, there's RMT spamming it. Yes, I think nerfing it is stupid. Yes, I knew someone would complain about it.

As mentioned above, Tanaka's approach to dealing with RMT only succeeded in screwing over everyone else. RMT have the time and resources to trudge thrugh it until they find a way around it, whereas us ordinary folk do not.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:

Well, it's just ONE Leve. It couldn't hurt all of us if one thing was either altered or removed. I mean, it's not like it would be like taking the bottom brick out of a Jinga tower. The game will not go down the crapper.

Just make cooldowns not reset when you accept a leve, problem solved.

Ok, so, let's look at it this way. Alter the leve to have less money/drops on it. They'll simply move Elsewhere.
The realistic solution would be to IP block the RMTs, get one and you'll likely get the ones they're being followed by.
Or, a better solution would be for nobody to buy gil, but where there is demand there is going to be supply.

They should simply ban the players buying gils.
They can't ban gils sellers because they'll just use a new account. After all, they're paid for all the gils they sell, and they can afford some spare accounts.

But...real players won't buy another game and start from scratch only to buy a handful of gils.
No gils buyers, no gil sellers, problem solved.

Problem is they can't without a doubt prove those players are RMT. Common sense would dictate otherwise, but they're paying customers and have to be treated as such until they engage in something that actually breaks the terms of service.

In FFXI back when most NMs and stuff were open world, they were well known for griefing and training mobs on people to kill them to keep a monopoly on NMs. These were reportable offenses and would sometimes land them a ban. The fact that nothing in the open world is worthwhile means they will stick to whatever nets them money the fastest, and in this case it's an instanced leve.

It's a double edged sword SE has to work with because most solutions that hamper RMT activities also hurt legitimate players. In fact, the early version of this game was designed with combating RMT in mind, and it's also what made so many things inconvenient.

Like I said, the only viable solution, IMO, is to get rid of the mechanic that resets all your CDs once you accept a new leve. I've grown so used to having to deal with cooldowns with every other content I've participated in that it wouldn't bother me if that changed.
