    FFXIV Servers being brought to NA/EU No Longer JP Only

    Over the course of my visits to the forums I recall seeing several threads requesting for SE to separate JP/NA/EU players to their own servers. I've also seen a lot of people wrongfully throwing around remarks that 100% of the servers aren't based in Japan, and that's 100% false.

    People who've made the request for their own servers will be happy to know that with the release of A Realm Reborn SE will be launching servers relative to your region, and will be giving us the option to choose which one we want to play on. This will greatly increase the games response time, however, in lieu of the face that there are a few different languages spoken in any given region this wont completely solve the language barrier, but it sure will improve the issue.

    In conclusion, anyone who's been using "server lag" as an excuse for why they can't dodge cracks will have to return to the more traditional, "my connection's lagging."

    P.S. Before any of you types that love to spread misinformation based on stuff you dream up in your own head even think about telling my I'm wrong please review this.

    This was an actual legitimate problem, and not people blaming mistakes on phantom lag. We would see on our screen we are not in the cracks or circles and still get hit.

    No I'm sorry, I've done a lot of ifrits with people who had zero problems dodging his attacks. So yes most people who say it cripples them just flatout suck.

    Period. Yes latency is a problem, but can you continue to blame it for your inability to dodge? No.

    No, I'm sorry - there is a literal server lag. While the biggest culprit for Ifrit deaths is animation lock, I've died being good yalms distances from any danger :/

    Explain to me how its a player problem when on your own screen your not in them and still get hit? That's not a player problem its a server problem.

    The only way the server recognizes that you aren't in them is if you move about as soon as it happens and even then its sometimes still gets you.

    I'm actually more curious for someone to explain to me how no one can supposedly dodge his attacks due to latency problems, even though every party I've done except for ones with new people in it, can dodge them perfectly fine. On my screen the second I see cracks forming near me I get out of the way and I don't end up getting hit. I think only a few times out of the hundreds Ifrits I've done have I been on the opposite end of the arena and got pelted, but i can account that for not paying attention.

    So are you really going to tell me no one can dodge his attacks?

    They didnt say "no one can dodge his attacks" - they just said server lag has made Ifrit harder then it should be* (and animation lock - this bad boy once gone will fix a lot of the problem).
    * Its unintended difficulty

    Ignorance at it's finest.

    You can't possibly sit there with a straight face after having done 100+ Ifrits and say "Nobody in my parties has ever failed to dodge cracks or attacks." It's impossible. I've done well over 100+ ifrits, probably far more than that, and while most of the time it's peachy-keen, there is ALWAYS someone who is unable to dodge cracks properly because of latency issues. With servers located only in Japan while the rest of the world is forced to connect directly to it, there ARE going to be prevalent problems with latency.

    The only way to avoid the latency issue is somehow dodge far ahead of the crack before it forms.. and to my knowledge, there aren't people who can see flashes of the future. So, take your own advice (sig relevant) and don't plug your ears to the truth.
