Was such a fun and challenging MMO experience last night when 6-10 WHMS from other shells would watch a LS fight down a Magitek/elite just so that they could all go over and try and holy for the last hit and "steal" the drop.
A real test of skill!

And people clamor for world HNM's.
This is indicative of the mindset of the FF mmo community. If HNM's were around it would get this nasty and worse. People in any MMO but particularly Final Fantasy do not want to cooperate if there is anything loot related involved. If there is loot involved they will resort to MPK, leashing, botting or just overall dickery for a shot at the loot.
Also lol at the people defending this event.
It would be divine justice if SE released this event as a test on the community to see how people deal with large-scale HNM events in preperation for 2.0. If they did we are failing....horribly.
Honestly I wouldn't doubt that at all, they have done seasonal events before as testing for future content (last summers bomb escort was a test for caravan etc)
I think it would have gone a lot better had drops been obvious. There's no problem taking turns, but if half the people think killshot gets drops so they're not going to wait, and the other half think claim gets drops so they want to alternate, you end up with a lot of confusion and resentment.
It's no fun getting an item if it felt like you had to steal it from other players.
U don't have to leash the mobs if you straight tank the vanguard, sleep the elites and pick them off one by one guys. Our ls did this last night for a couple hours, tho we did overlook it at the beginning. Also, the reason you guys might be confusing the killshot for who has claim is because when you leash the mobs they could be deaggroin right before a kill and your killshot could be for claim because i noticed it happening last night before we were straight tanking.

I can't see SE recoding the way drops work for one new event. People really believe that out of the blue SE decided that the final kill shot regardless of claim now determines who gets loot? Seriously?
What is happening is that either you have claim and your kill shot is irrelevant or the mob is leashing and your kill shot is taking claim...
I can confirm that getting a "killshot" does not indicate where the drops go. As far as I can tell so far, proximity to the mob (I got a hat when it was purple to me, and I nor anyone else in my party got the killing blow on the elite that dropped it) is the only thing that matters.
So far after hours of farming, I haven't seen any confirmation whatsoever they drop from anything but the elite packs.
See, my galkan brother thinks the same thing!I can't see SE recoding the way drops work for one new event. People really believe that out of the blue SE decided that the final kill shot regardless of claim now determines who gets loot? Seriously?
