Dude WS and spell animations are already approaching or exceeding 3 secondsI'm depressed by this new system. I played this game with excitement knowing that Yoshi-P cared about PvP as much as me. We now have to wait 3 seconds after every WS. We also have 3 seconds between Thunder and Thundara. There is no strategy behind saving your TP. There is no strategy behind the order in which you use WSs. Just run in, do something, wait 3 seconds. Everyone is equal. Everyone will be jumping like idiots. Skill doesn't matter, etc, etc.
I never even considered quitting during Tanaka's FFXIV, but now I actually am, knowing how boring PvP will be.
People complaining about 3 seconds when some WS takes 10 minutes or someshyte to be able to be used again...
1...2...3 it took me 3 seconds ( with dots to type it in) 3 seconds and you complain? I wonder if you still complain if it was at 1 second ( then it will be a "true" spamfest, something I personally do not want)
As people said, lot of abilities could either:
- Regen TP (raid/party wide or even individual spells)
- Reduce TP Cost of abilities (this is fairly common in MMOs, having a raid wide buff that reduce ability costs by 10~15%, both TP and MP costs)
Could also have self buffs that reduce the TP costs etc.
Antipika.

Aside from using throwing weapons, the new system is mostly the same as the current system.
TP gain is based on delay, once delays line up the same classes will have the same TP over a given time. Variance comes in with missing, use of throwing weapons and TP skills. All this system does is change it from gain per hit to gain over time, takes out the penalty for missing too.
Learn to manage your TP and you'll be fine. Just like when mages finally had to actually start conserving MP, we'll learn to use the system well.
Not every boss battle is to be expected to be a zerg fest. Everyone is gonna relearn how to play just like in ver 1.18.
I'll reserve my critique until I try the beta.
Yup to this 100% couldn't agree more! I can't wait for the alpha! Hope I get in! <3Aside from using throwing weapons, the new system is mostly the same as the current system.

As Ricky said, the 3 GCD is started once you select a WS. For most WS's the animation exceeds the 3sec GCD. So you wont really be waiting to do another WS after performing one before. As for spamming WS's, in the current version if you build up 3000TP then do all you combos its basically the same as 2.0, except now we dont have to wait for 3000TP and can start our DDing right out of the gate. The only difference now is that there are no long cool downs for certain WS's.
