This point isn't true. Your actual crafting stats have much more effect on success of synth than your rank. This is why someone who's rank 20 but still has a rank 7 tool will have a hard time crafting even rank 15 items and visa versa.

actually that is true. I have tested it myself. Say you are rank 30, and the recipe rank is 20. you can craft that recipe just fine completely naked with a R1 tool. I have done it . .

It has always been your rank vs synth rank. Crafting stats have very little effect. It would have been better if it was 'Your crafting stats vs Recipe required crafting stats' but it is not so.
