Well I'm one of the Dusk elezens, so i just keep telling myself i have lights built into my face or something.Speaking of dynamic lighting, it would be great to have completely dark caves in ARR. The player would have to get a torch or a special item to be able to see and navigate the cave easily.
Right now, most caves should be completely dark, but for some mysterious reason every single cave wall in Eorzea emit light.
On the other hand, Cassiopeia Hollow, for example, contains numerous phosphorescent plants which would be an example of a cave that doesn't require any torch or special lighting item.
Because they're lost. Like dozens of little shepherds, some of us hope to guide them to the righteous path.He also said this:
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:34)
How about we all stop backseat developing the game for Square-Enix, and let them do their job?

SE I know this was what it looked like in the past...but judging by the environment in Starlords gif, Please let this be Mor Dhona

I think that would be awesome. Make environments more part of the challenge, etc.Speaking of dynamic lighting, it would be great to have completely dark caves in ARR. The player would have to get a torch or a special item to be able to see and navigate the cave easily.

Well we're talking pre-alpha right now, so there's no need to get up in arms about missing animations just yet. If they're not in open beta I'll be worried, but for now I feel pretty sure they're just missing because a LOT if missing from their pre-alpha display version.I have good vibes about what Yoshi-P is doing with the game, but at the same time, I'll be cautious and reserve judgment for anything in-game until retail. We got burned the last time we assumed things from alpha and beta were going to be drastically changed in retail. Honestly, if there's something you see that you don't like and it's still present in closed beta, make your concerns loud and vocal, because from a game engine standpoint, huge revisions probably aren't going to be made in between open beta and retail.
Good catch, Zahak! I never thought about it like that. The area at the beginning of the CG trailer "director's cut" that is in Starlord's gif really looks like the original CG of past Mor Dhona (and Silvertear Falls). Wow. If we really get to go there in 2.0....
Yeah, I think I'd be making the same startled/amazed/determined all-at-once face as the guy in the trailer!
GRASS JOKE!
*ahem*
To the haters of the new engine, I'd say they need to learn that graphical fidelity is not the only thing that makes a game visually appealling. ARR looks hella more stylish to me, and the level design is leaps and bounds above the copypasta'd terrain we have now.
yes I really hope those trees and blue sky mean we are getting this spot back D: It's a long shot though, im sure other places have trees...and blue sky . _.Good catch, Zahak!
