Thread: Advice on Video Card (mainly for 2.0)

I personally would wait until it actually came out.

Graphics cards go "obsolete" as in new ones come out realllyyyy quickly. Prices also drop relatively quickly.

You could always wait a few months after a new release to get better prices. You could also get second hand ones as the "hardcore" unloads their previous top tier cards for the latest and greatest.

When 2.0 comes out, there'll be benches along with reports from people with different setups posting on these forums.

If you keep saving from now until 2.0 comes, you might even be able to afford a better card than you could now ^^b

That said I did get a Visiontek Radeon 7970 3GB for under $350 when they were clearing out inventory for the new GHz edition cards (which you can flash the *leaked* experimental bios in the old 900ish MHz reference cards and change it into the new GHz editions if you don't mind voiding the warranty).
