I don't think this is a poll to ask if we want to keep 1.0 around forever (i.e. having 2.0 and 1.0 running concurrently).
It is just to let people continue playing FFXIV until 2.0 goes live... instead of leaving a complete void for those who don't play any other games.

Aye, nuff said. XD

I said yes, just cause it could pass the time and plus talk to linkshell mates and friends.

NO!
Gives me a chance to spend time on other things. Maybe I can finally build my new pc.
no too i want se make more progress on 2.0.. so i can play 2.0 more faster and more smooth

I voted no. Without saved progression a mmo is just a chat channel.
I would rather SE shut them down save the money and put it into more development. A mmo without saving progression is at least in my opinion pointless.

I voted yes. It doesn't hurt anyone to have the servers up and if people want to use that time to chat and goof off while waiting for ARR, more power to them.

I voted yes, simply 'cause it would be cool to log in and hang out with LS-mates, goof off, do fun stuff "just because". If it doesn't happen, no big deal. It'd be nice to have that option, though, just to kick around and have fun in "old Eorzea". And if others are interested in something like that, and the offer is on the table, then why not?
What I find rather shocking - though perhaps I shouldn't, knowing how incredibly ego-centric many MMO players are these days - is how easily and willingly some will refuse others an option, simply because *they* aren't personally interested in it.
"If I'm not interested in doing it, then no one else can do it either".
That pretty much sums up the attitude.
If you wouldn't personally log in, then you wouldn't personally log in. No big deal. That's your choice.
How exactly would it affect those of you who aren't interested in logging in, if others were?
Are you that eager to demonstrate how intolerant you are of others doing something you don't like? 'cause some of you are doing a spectacular job of it.
Ever heard that saying, "If you don't like the song, change the station?"
Well, if you don't like the idea of logging in after 1.0 ends... then don't log in. It really is that simple.
And please don't come back with all this nonsense about how "all effort and resources should go into 2.0" and all that. You aren't behind the scenes. You don't know what their circumstances are. You don't know what resources they have or how they have them allocated. So, just stop with the arm-chair expert opinions on "how Yoshi-P and the FFXIV team should conduct their business". If it weren't do-able or feasible, Yoshi wouldn't have opened up the possibility to begin with.
Here's a crazy idea... Stop imposing your "likes" and "dislikes" on others. Stop trying to dictate how others can or can't have fun, just because it doesn't fall in line with what you want. I know. I may as well be asking a number of you to gouge your own eyeballs out.

Yoshi and SE are basically offering to keep the servers up. I personally don't plan on logging in, but for crap sake... They made the offer. If people will take advantage of it, why not? For that reason, I voted yes even though I personally will not be logging in after the end of the world.

Not that I normally reply to people in these forums. Aren't you doing the exact same thing that you're telling people not to do? Everybody has their own reasons. We have to respect it and move on. If the servers stay up, they stay up. If they go down, then they go down.I voted yes, simply 'cause it would be cool to log in and hang out with LS-mates, goof off, do fun stuff "just because".
