Well in this day in age yeah, but if you asked that same thing back in the ps1 era, there wasn't really anything good to look at.What a sad day. Animations in XIV was what set it apart from other MMO's. I loved how much emphasis was put on movement and you FELT like your character was actually doing something.
I love chaos thrust in 1.0. It looks great, you can feel the umph put into it, and you feel like your character is using all they have.
Then we have 2.0 chaos thrust. While the visuals are nice for it... it's rushed and feels very stiff.
People need to stop with this gameplay>aesthetics/animations. Gameplay can only go so far unless you have nice aesthetics and making a bright visual won't go as far IMO. People bitching about animation lock are really messing up this game visually. We couldn't have a happy medium for animation locks skills and ones that don't? I don't see why they couldn't do both... Really dissapointed in this information.
Looking at those videos. I absolutely HATE that backpedaling. When I turn around, I want to turn around. Not keep walking backwards. Really hope that's not how it is in ARR.
that's why you got a mouse so you can turn around easily AND backpedaling if you don't want to have an ennemy that'll do extra damages because it hit you in the back .
Further statement on ff history, I prefer gameplay> graphic/animation look at quality of ff's post ps2 generation they have been so increasingly worried about graphics that gameplay has taken a huge hit. Pre ps3 ff's no doubt put you way above 99:99:99 game time. Why is this? Because there was A LOT of gameplay. Post ps3 graphics were more important therefore ir now only takes 30-50 hrs to beat a FF that is depressing. It is why they also are not/have not made a ffvii remake because the gameplay story will take a major hit just to make it aesthetically pleasing.
Therefore, i highly back gameplay>graphics/aesthitics because I want to still be playing for years to come and be at a year or so before i finish a story/ max level not before the free trial is up like games like swtor antera where graphically appeasement was programmed more than gameplay
I thought PC version could have the same interface and stuff that the ps3 version will have , they'll surely change the gameplay a little for the controller because yeah with a controller it will be a bad idea .
err Xmbei FF6 took me 20 hours to finish completely , 100 hours for a pre ps3 FF it's if you farm a lot and kill all the optionnal bosses and i'm sure it take as many hours for FF13 .
the probleme is that FF13 looked like that :

Please explain.
I never died finding out if a monster was agressive or not. It's pretty easy to Agro a mob and...you know run away from it. If you were too lazy to do it right don't blame the game.
here is the start :
Quoted for truth. I'm so sick of making this another MMO. Why I actually stuck with XIV. It was different. I really want to know what Yoshi hasn't said yet that is gonna make this game different from other's besides the usual Final Fantasy lore....It's one of a long line of features that have been removed for the sake of "Gameplay"
Monster Behaviorial AI was one.
Not knowing is mobs were agressive until you actually found out was another.
Aggro Mechanics was another one as well.
They keep chipping away at what made the game unique, and plastering the "MMO standard mold" onto many aspects of the game.
