    Can only do so much with the original game when the entire system is being rebuilt (Aside from graphics and animations maybe). Often times code becomes useless, unless they rebuild the code to utilize the old engines which are inefficient and barely work at the moment anyways.

    tl;dr - You may not be this way, but it seems as if you are oozing impatience for the developers to hang onto every single query of yours, when the time for that query to be tested hasn't even begun. Be more patient - wait until alpha which is when it is appropriate to voice those concerns. I myself think the lack of diagonal animation is a worry, but I'm willing to wait until alpha before backhanding SE a list of concerns, instead of now in which they should be focusing on getting the game READY for alpha.
    What you're referring to is more akin to waiting to see how it plays. Not the issue. What we are merely discussing is how it looks. I don't need to wait until Alpha/Beta to notice the direction they are taking the animation. I know it will play and control like a typical MMO should. The problem is how it looks.

    Animation is linked to how it plays out in-game. If they haven't finished working out everything in how it plays, how the hell do you expect them to render full-scale animations for everything? You're asking for the final seasoning on your still raw meat - it's just not going to be like that.

    And if you think that's the direction animation is taking, with so much missing from it as can be seen....I don't know what to say except your expectations are ridiculously low. I feel that they're lacking, but this is NOT the appropriate time to be sending feedback to them. They have not finished with them. If that's not clear, I think you need to get a new pair of glasses.

    Did you even watch the wholoe hour special presentation.... because they themselves said it in the middle of showing off the demo. "It is far from finished, I didn't want to even show this demo because it looks so bad and typical". So I think you need to watch the whole presentation and see what they are saying and you will get your Marvelous answer straight from Yoshi and the animation directors.

    Not that I don't believe it, but it's a pretty vague and indirect answer that still leaves the topic of transitional animation up in the air. Especially considering they vocalized issues with animation lag and what means they may have gone through to fix it.

    Just because it's "far from finished" doesn't mean animation has anything to do with it. Course it doesn't mean that it won't have anything to do with it either, but it's not a direct answer. Speculation is still up for debate, and it's one of the reasons I recommend asking Yoshi about it in the live letter.
