As I said earlier in the thread, other games have worlds that actually have some life to them, with NPC's running around, moving, etc. You said you would rather not have that stuff, in place of having an animation present for your character when they start/stop running. In that statement, you prove that animation isn't actually all that important, just how your character moves. I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with you on any level here. I want this game to have a world that feels alive as opposed to a clunky animation I hardly ever notice anyway. (Yes, it feels clunky to me, because I don't stop moving when I actually want it to, I do that stupid stumble forward)

Cool story. Far from what i asked, but i'm going to reply since its actually relevant to the thread. FFXIV, among other things, is a third person game. My opinion is, that when it comes to animation in third person games, the animation of your character is of top importance since this is what you unavoidably observe in the center of your screen, most of the time. Also, since FFXIV is an MMO, and not a single player game, your character is you in the sense that the logic behind MMO's is being in a sandbox with other people, interacting and co-operating, You don't play a character like Link, but your character. So as a few people have pointed out in this thread, having an amazing animation when it comes to your character, helps empathising. Some might value this aspect, some might don't.

Kiri, you do know she's "never" going admit shes wrong.. I came up and Apologized for claiming she said something she didn't say ( but she did imply them several times in which again I will not dig them up in a 1k post thread). I did the same thing with Rokien I apologized for my actions towards him.

I was of course referring to things in conceptual terms. With how awful FFXIV 1.0's launch was, and how terribly reviewed it got, you would think that things SO BASIC would have been implemented. So yes, SE is capable of terrible decisions.

Well, in a poll recently on IGN, the #1 factor in having fun in an MMO these days isn't end-game content, or hell, content for that matter. It's walking animations.

Shame they really shot themselves in the foot with this "upgrade."

You should have accepted the apology " weather it was sincere or not in your eyes, and not provoked the situation any longer. That's what you did this entire thread long "Provoked others because they weren't agreeing "100%" on everything you said"

I am a forgiving person. To the people that really mean it. When i said "cornered" i didn't mean "by a lot of people" but by logic and facts.

How would you feel if i accused you of calling others idiots and using "offensive memes" when you never called or implied anyone is an idiot, and the only "offensive memes" you posted was a knight on a horse, blacklisting you, and then keep talking this way to others about you, and then after i almost forcefully "apologised" i still maintain the notion that you did imply all those things?

Would you accept my apology?
