    An upgrade in one area but a downgrade in others when they could have just kept everything the way it is now and upgraded it lol. So if it still looks like a downgrade even post Alpha/Beta, guess they really did downgrade things infavor of PvP.

    Well, adding PvP is a downgrade in itself, but that's just my opinion.

    Honestly I'll take a "downgraded" run animation in exchange for all of the vast, sweeping changes that appear to be making the game far more playable. Not even a concern for me, easily a non-issue.

    And on the subject of downgrades as a necessity for PVP and the like? Go play Dark Souls and its ilk. High quality animation and realistic movement limitations are anything but an obstacle to a good PVP experience. They just teach you to keep in mind how you move as you ought any other action.

    I did. The animation is exactly the same.

    I think there's small pieces of clothing that don't move, but that's about it.

    Physics only cut off free flowing animations, i.e hair, your weapon at your side, clothing effects etc, not running animations.

    Sadly, I doubt this is because of pre-Alpha..

    The Dumbed down movement animations are probably do to some incompatibility with the new movement control system.

    You should expect to see a lot of little things go out the window in favor of more mainstream MMO functionality. Sad.

    Tell me about it - it's a pattern we've been seeing since Yoshida came in. Yeah, yeah, lay into me all you like and of course some things have unconditionally improved, but I miss so much the realistically proportioned wildlife, 'hitching' on entities rather than just ghosting through them like they aren't there, and non-combat actions for creatures like warning postures, watching, and so forth.

    I just hope they keep that promise made by the rep's a while back to reinstate target-oriented emotes come v2.0. Somehow I get the nasty feeling they plan on trying to sweep that under the carpet.
