    Look at the majority of rep posts: over 90% of them are translations of posts from JP reps which are then stuck into threads that fit the topic.

    The connection between non-JP players and devs is almost non-existent. Not that it's our reps fault...

    I'm not at all a huge forum poster, but seeing how this thread has developed and the live demo we saw yesterday I feel the need to chime in.

    The animations are currently unacceptable. There is no reason why we can't have nice animations. If the dev team is so concerned about them getting in the way of combat the solution is very simple.

    Allow abilities to clip animations.

    Your welcome SE. Oh and welcome to the year 2012. The game can look good the way it deserves and you've got your combat response. I believe both are critical in an MMO today. Especially one that must remove the stain of it's history like this one must.

    This game was a huge embarrasing failure and everyone in the world knew it. Despite that we continue to play but were not enough. You need to win the hearts and minds of 10 times as many poeple.

    Restore the proper animations and allow them to be clipped.

    Also the basic character movement is atrocious. Look.... I'll play this game no matter what. But for the masses who only remember the epic failure this game was..... this game has to be a grand slam, far beyond the rest.

    Make this happen SE. We've all heard "oh it's only alpha"/"oh it's only beta" too many times before.

    It's now or never

    okay, yet another thing that's been brought up a million times that's starting to bug me...

    "Can't the new animation just 'clip in', 'overwrite', 'interrupt' the previous aniumation. Then we get the best of both worlds"

    think this through, actually imagine what it would look like, IT WOULD LOOK EVEN WORSE, running animations being cut off, casting animation being stopped half way through with charters snapping to completely unrelated motions... you thinking you're howling about animations now, the braying and neighing of barnyard animals that would follow a video with the "just have new animations cut off other ones" would dwarf this.

    Successful MMO market results would disagree with you. Responsive gameplay is king and was one of the biggest reasons cited for the huge embarrasing failure that was ffxiv 1.0 launch. But you can still have both! The good animations + responsive gameplay
