Only issue i have with level sync (and my biggest gripe with gw2) is level capping areas. Lets say for instance i want to level leatherworking and i want to farm all my mats. Why should i be punished for wanting to farm low level mobs? If ive earned that level and gear i should be able to use it everywhere. If they implement level capped areas as ive described alot of players will just choose not to go there. We already are going to have a huge gap between legacy and 2.0 players, i dont want to see it get larger.

So m suggestion would be just implement voluntary level sync and if they have to do things like easy ifrit capped go ahead. Plz dont level cap areas.
Funny thing about farming low level mobs? You can potentially be taking away someone's source of exp, so in reality you'll be punishing them for being low level, so it works both ways. If you can get the same items from higher leveled enemies, why not do that? That's the real issue with the concept of farming low level enemies.

Even with the way GW2 works, you have to think about that. This specifically:

If they implement level capped areas as ive described alot of players will just choose not to go there.
This is false. If its the level 50 players that chooses not to...so what? Compare the current small playerbase with the amount of new and low level players who will not be effected by a level cap and you'll see exactly that what you meant to say was: "I will not go there."

Threads like this make me sad to see the state of this industry.

Level Caps are necessary for the longevity of content and increased difficulty allows for increased Drop Rates.

Remember when we used to play games for the challenge and the brag that we could win?

What is the point of Content you can walk through?

If are playing an MMO and don't have any friends, use content finder.

Funny enough I read on this exact forum it's actually PvP that makes content last longer..so I think you're preaching to the choir saying level caps are, when you are correct. Even changing difficulties is essentially the same as being in a level capped area, since all it does is change certain aspects.

Toto-Rak shouldn't be enterable by anyone above 35 for example thus level cap so higher level can enter with lower level players..though I guess in today's MMO players, trivializing content is A-Ok.

@elexia: i think you are missing my point entirely. I am against level capping areas due to the fact that it takes away from the playing experience. Voluntary level sync would be great. If you dont like it you can CHOOSE not to use it. Having that restriction placed on people is just stressful.

As far as taking away someone's xp? Lol. You have played mmos correct? Mobs DO respawn you know and there is always more than one camp to choose from. Also i dont think youre keeping up with the times as Yoshi has repeatedly said ARR will be quest based progression. Guild leves are still going to be around at level 10 plus. So what youre saying is people will want to grind levels on mobs which give next to no xp?

This is false? Sweetpea opinions cannot be right or wrong, you can choose to agree or disagree, of which i prefer the latter because it sparks coversation, not your ham handed attempt to troll.

I dont mind if you disagree, but be constructive.

Yep plenty, mobs respawn but if you're farming your purpose is to get every one of those spawns for the materials you need and lots of it.

    That's the point of farming.

there is always more than one camp to choose from
"I'm a weaver so I'm going to farm these diremites for web...oh hm, looks like someone is already farming this spot so I'll go to the next."

Also i dont think youre keeping up with the times as Yoshi has repeatedly said ARR will be quest based progression
He also said you can't completely progress by doing quests alone, you'll have to do everything.

So what youre saying is people will want to grind levels on mobs which give next to no xp?
So what you're saying is, you're already playing ARR? I didn't miss the point, you're missing that it's a two way street.

uhmm Yoshi did say grinding mobs for xp will no longer be viable..... Why can't people on this forum just admit and respectfully accept that sometimes they just dont know everything. Why is it that so many will defend to the death their comments no matter how wrong they might be. And kaiser I do agree with you but I don't agree that opinions can not be wrong, just because someone feels it is right doesn't always make it so.

@krausus thank you. An intelligent response to spark coversation.

@elexia: you just debunked your own theory. If farming is meant to grab every mob (duh) why in gods name would i farm mats from high level mobs (using dodos as an example) at bluefog when i could much more efficiently get the same mats from lower level mobs? So someone i dont know can level? I appreciate youre martyrdom but not everyone does that. Maybe if we had skillups that would be viable if you werent capped.

On a side note: i cant figure out if you are really level 1 mrd as your main or you just dont have the gall to troll on yourmain character. Either way since id like to think you are level1 mrd you dont know there are 2-3 diremite camps near nophica's wells.

At any rate, lets stay on topic guys.

Level limit/cap makes me have high hopes for the future of this games content/storyline.

Because sometimes higher level mobs have better drop rate than lower levels. Also, for some cases you'll want higher level mobs to farm certain materials. For instance, if you want Aldgoat horns, you need to break their horns, and quite frankly, it's much harder to do that on lower level than higher leveled mobs.

@surieko youre right. Was just using dodos as an example. I was just pointing out how on dodos i can burn down 10 Plus by skull valley in the time it would take me to do 2-3 at bluefog.
