@krausus thank you. An intelligent response to spark coversation.

@elexia: you just debunked your own theory. If farming is meant to grab every mob (duh) why in gods name would i farm mats from high level mobs (using dodos as an example) at bluefog when i could much more efficiently get the same mats from lower level mobs? So someone i dont know can level? I appreciate youre martyrdom but not everyone does that. Maybe if we had skillups that would be viable if you werent capped.

On a side note: i cant figure out if you are really level 1 mrd as your main or you just dont have the gall to troll on yourmain character. Either way since id like to think you are level1 mrd you dont know there are 2-3 diremite camps near nophica's wells.

At any rate, lets stay on topic guys.

Because sometimes higher level mobs have better drop rate than lower levels. Also, for some cases you'll want higher level mobs to farm certain materials. For instance, if you want Aldgoat horns, you need to break their horns, and quite frankly, it's much harder to do that on lower level than higher leveled mobs.

Level limit/cap makes me have high hopes for the future of this games content/storyline.

@surieko youre right. Was just using dodos as an example. I was just pointing out how on dodos i can burn down 10 Plus by skull valley in the time it would take me to do 2-3 at bluefog.

Speaking of Toto-Rak if they force level sync on content like that (not end game content) they really need to bump that drop rate up. Because I only went in there once at the appropriate level. Otherwise I did a few quick runs to get the gear. I doubt anyone but serious collectors will go into a non-end game content dungeon more then once, requiring a full party, if its going to take them 10+ challenging fights to get eh gear for 10-20 levels. Its not like you can solo toto-rak at level 25, you need a full group at that level. (Or do some combination of gear+ and rate manipulations - as it stands level sync would kill the few amount of visits to toto-rak that do happen even now)

Forced level sync specially on unsoloable content is a bad idea. It took me hours to get a party to do the baby Ifrit main quest, and thats when 3 level 50s felt bad for me and came as body count (who also owned him before I finished cutscene). But I ---highly--- doubt those three would have come if they where going to get their gear tossed to shit, no reward, and had the chance of wipping over and over. Prehaps they should add "ok" npcs you can bring along incase you cant get the body count (in this way you can maintain level sync - but not be screwed into hours of LFG). I can only imagine how long it would take to get a group for Ifrit with level sync after a year or so of 2.0 out, if you dont have friends you better make some because you'd never get it done otherwise.

Just to make it clear - I'm not against level sync in a general sense; however, I am very wary of its implementation. It should only be something we look forward to not something like "oh dammit I'm going to have to sync with you...".

    GW2 does it nicely.
All areas have a level cap.
You get drops based on YOUR real level; not area level.
Your party auto level ups/down based on area and level difference.
You don't lose skills from higher levels; they just scale down/up in effectiveness

    Yeah? lol

GW2 effectively killed high level's clearing out zones for farming; since even if your 80 you get bumped down to 6 in the first zones.

If your to low in party and your in a higher level area; you get bumped up. But you only get drops for something around your current level; not to far below; not to far above.

It's really a nice take on it.

It also means you don't need to power-level since you can enjoy ALL content at any level; just means your less effective if you haven't got the skills.

This is what i don't want i played my friend char on GW2 and i don't like having my lvls removed its stupid. Don't lvl me down cause i wanna walk thru a lvl 10 area.

About lvl sync if it works like XI and i can choose what player i want to sync my lvl too then i'm fine with that and if i can take it off at will, that is a big bonus.

oh god thats a most horrible thing, that could happen to a rpg...

you want to progress, you want to feel more powerul.. so getting back to a lv 10 zone and kill monsters which have been very dangrous for you when you have been lv 10.

Do you want ever to feel like a adventure beginner, or some day like a hero who got stronger? i dont like it, when mobs level up with you automatically... even in single rpgs..

wasnt it Oblivion or Gothic 3 where the mobs levled with you? it was horrible.. and much disliked from the community. that GW2 does this new, doesnt make it better.
