Ring Contest Ended early?? -[Need rep response]

Greetings everyone!

Apologies for the confusion! We will be accepting all entries that were sent by the deadline that was posted on topics (Sept. 3, 11:59pm PDT), so please do not worry!

We will also be switching out the Lodestone banner to the English one, as it appears the French banner has been posted on the North American Lodestone.

Thank you everyone for your amazing submissions!

On the front page of the lodestone there is a post saying that the ring contest is closed.

However the official rules say that the contest does not close until Sep 3rd, 11:59pm PDT.

Did the contest end early or do people still have a chance to get their entries in? (I post this because I have seen several people with nice designs who aren't turning them in because they think they are too late)

Japanese: 2012年8月10日（金） ～2012年9月3日（月） 16:00
UK: Friday, August 10, 2012 (GMT) to Monday, September 3, 2012 7:00am (GMT)
French: Le concours est ouvert du vendredi 10 août 2012 (GMT) au lundi 3 septembre 2012 à 7 h (GMT).
German: Freitag, den 10. August 2012 (GMT) bis Montag, den 3. September 2012 um 7:00 Uhr (GMT)

NA: Friday, August 10, 2012 (PDT) to Monday, September 3, 2012 11:59pm (PDT)

All say to send to ffxiv_contest@square-enix.com, and all but the NA version have the correct time. Subjects differ, but for NA and UK it's the same.

So GMT 7am on SEP 3rd is the closing for all EU contests.

6:59am GMTon SEP 3rd = 11:59pm PDT on SEP 2nd (not the 3rd as they posted)

Did they mistakenly give NA an extra day when they created the contest? -- and then apparently retract it???


This is a critical issue for many NA contestants who planned around the posted deadline for their entries. (And there is no reason at all why any of us should be cross referencing the NA contest times with EU/JP)

I understand it may have been a mistake, but SE owes it to the NA contestants to abide by the dates they set. I seriously hope/assume SE will do the right thing with this.

I actually think there was a typo and should be 2nd of september 11:59pm on NA section. Which would make sense, since that would fit the other regions and would lead to closing the Contest at the same time around the globe.

11:59pm on 3rd of september would have meant it would have closed like 24 hours AFTER everyone else, which sounds totally off to me.

Right, that was a typo on SE sadly...

I believe they meant to write it as 9/3 PDT 12am (midnight)/ EST 3am
or PDT 9/2 11:59pm and EST 9/3 2:59am Going by how they were doing their times.

I got a delay email hours after sending mine in, even though I submitted it before the previously posted deadline. I guess they should open up submissions for 1 more day or something because it's not fair if they made a typo. =(

Not only that, but it was never corrected at any point. They owe it to the contestants to accept all entries up to the time they posted.
