Just because FFXIV has a new producer and a few other staff changes doesn't mean that they will be able to develop it any faster. But at least Yoshida acknowledges most of the problems, and has played enough MMOs to know what FFXIV needs to become a decent game.

At this point, the time it takes doesn't make much difference.. SE already made the mistake of releasing the game too early in order to beat other MMOs to the punch, and that was one of the worst decisions in the history of the company.

If they want FFXIV to have any sort of "revival" with the PS3 release, the game has to be complete and polished. Fretting over the release dates of other games is pointless.
I think i never said i wanted the game fixed now, in fact i have said many times i rather wait for an finish and polished product than have the same unfinished garbage again.

But you know that game could be something i dont like .Like my example for the first creating from the "new" team . The agro indicator .I hate it. So as much a yoshida says he will" fix" the game it does not automatically makes it true like people around here say and puts him on an altar like a hero or something.

Oops, I thought I was in one of Belgian's other troll threads. Some of what I said was directed at him, not you.

The devs made a comment about the agro icon recently, if you haven't seen it:

Hey everyone! This is User Interface lead Minagawa.
I’d like to give you some info on what we’re planning in regards to the aggressive monster icon.

Since patch 1.16, we implemented an icon to show aggressive monsters above the enemy’s head, but we received a considerable amount of feedback stating that it was unnecessary. On the other hand, we also received feedback from players who wish for the icon to remain the way it is currently. As a result of all the feedback, we are working on making it so players can toggle the icon on and off.

Also, in regards to the comments about the red icon standing out too much and breaking the game immersion, for patch 1.17 we are working on making the icon smaller as well as displaying the enemy’s level. We had originally planned for both of these things to be released as a set, but the enemy’s level display didn’t make it in time for the previous patch and we decided to release just the aggressive icon.

We will be releasing more information on this with the 1.17 update announcement, so stay tuned!

Don't get me wrong Yoshi-san has done a lot for the game and is still doing a lot, but after 6 months I want to feel like that game has gone somewhere and it hasn't. I know Yoshi-san has only been working on the game for the last 3 months, but that's not an excuse. He, unfortunately, has to work even harder to make up for the lack of fixes by the old team. He is in an extremely hard spot, I know, but the patches thus far, 1.15 and 1.16 and their a counterparts have been mediocre, in my opinion, at best.
There have been numerous improvements that were subtle, however patches have also added obvious things. Some of these are: seasonal event props and items, increased battle speed, balancing of monster SP values (far from perfect but a vast improvement anyways), side-quests, more main quests (cutscenes included), battle regiments (which are useful if you get people to use them), NMs, market search tool, adjusted item damage rates, etc. All of which had to be made, and tested for in-game feasibility. Considering they are rebuilding a released game that they don't have complete control over (cannot just remove and replace systems) I'd say that their doing a fairly good job.

I think deadlines are important and gives the customer, player base (don't forget we did buy this game, even though it is F2P right now), an idea as when they will have their product ready, and it gives the dev pressure to get it done on time. I understand his fears on delays and not being able to meet a deadline for unexplained reasons but at the same time I don't think it is profession nor courtesy to dangle the players by strings hoping the next patch will be the patch to save the game. I have full faith that Yoshi-san can make this game great, my concern is if he can do it before the players move on. Lets hope so.
If they were to announce dates for an improvement and there was a delay in its release then faith would be lost in the dev team. They internally have set dates, they just don't announce it for the reason stated above. The fact is that no game developer wants to have to rebuild a game that they already made once, but the fact is that it takes time to create concept art, build new objects and new sections of map, and reprogram the experience calculations. In short their already madly running around trying to fix the game that the old dev team released. It might be a while until everything is addressed.

Sorry if this is a little long.

EDIT: In case your curious I have been playing the game since the alpha phase, and they have definitely made massive improvements in the last few months.

The point that a lot of people seem to be missing is that while Square-Enix may have been doing a relatively good job updating the game with possibly limited time / resources, the current rate of progress may not be fast enough to turn FFXIV into an attractive game before potential customers are completely focused on other things. Current Customers are already leaving FFXIV in droves.

Square-Enix is going to need media attention to get the word out on this game. I can guarantee that if FFXIV is re-released anywhere near Diablo 3's launch, FFXIV will have to sit in the back of the bus. Also, the longer SE takes to re-release FFXIV, the closer you we are getting to competing MMO launches.

All Yoshi-P needs to do at this point to restore hope is to come out and tell us exactly what his plans are for changing the current system. Such a simple task would at least pull teetering fans pack onto FFXIV's side of the fence.

Please, Yoshi-P... Give us something! Anything! We tire of Eorzea!

    Mmmm......Diablo 3........*drool*

You're right in a sense, though. If the development team takes too long to produce results, then people will leave this game and never look back. I'm patient, but I'm not holding my breath.

You should try talking for yourself. It would help a lot in making your posts more realistic.

The game is going to have plenty media attention when the game is rereleased. Mind you, on PS3, where your darling diablo 3 won't even see the light of day.

As for giving information, it wouldn't make the slightest sense to give any information before it's finalized. Yoshida isn't going to make promises he isn't sure to keep, as he stated quite clearly in his early interview, and that's the behavioir any game developer worth is salt keeps or should keep.

If im not mistaken Japan is still suffering from a natural disaster. Thousands of Japanese have passed, radiation in water and food along with mandatory power conservations. They are working with no A/C and limited lighting to just bring the servers back online. Please be patient because amidst the events in Japan they still do everything they can to bring back Eorzia to us. If you tire of you free monthly payments then you can always wait for Diablo.

Yoshi told me not to go spreading this around, but after such a plea, I just can't resist wanting to help you out.

    Developer's Roadmap.

Just try to keep it hush-hush, okie?
