Don't get me wrong Yoshi-san has done a lot for the game and is still doing a lot, but after 6 months I want to feel like that game has gone somewhere and it hasn't. I know Yoshi-san has only been working on the game for the last 3 months, but that's not an excuse. He, unfortunately, has to work even harder to make up for the lack of fixes by the old team. He is in an extremely hard spot, I know, but the patches thus far, 1.15 and 1.16 and their a counterparts have been mediocre, in my opinion, at best.
There have been numerous improvements that were subtle, however patches have also added obvious things. Some of these are: seasonal event props and items, increased battle speed, balancing of monster SP values (far from perfect but a vast improvement anyways), side-quests, more main quests (cutscenes included), battle regiments (which are useful if you get people to use them), NMs, market search tool, adjusted item damage rates, etc. All of which had to be made, and tested for in-game feasibility. Considering they are rebuilding a released game that they don't have complete control over (cannot just remove and replace systems) I'd say that their doing a fairly good job.

I think deadlines are important and gives the customer, player base (don't forget we did buy this game, even though it is F2P right now), an idea as when they will have their product ready, and it gives the dev pressure to get it done on time. I understand his fears on delays and not being able to meet a deadline for unexplained reasons but at the same time I don't think it is profession nor courtesy to dangle the players by strings hoping the next patch will be the patch to save the game. I have full faith that Yoshi-san can make this game great, my concern is if he can do it before the players move on. Lets hope so.
If they were to announce dates for an improvement and there was a delay in its release then faith would be lost in the dev team. They internally have set dates, they just don't announce it for the reason stated above. The fact is that no game developer wants to have to rebuild a game that they already made once, but the fact is that it takes time to create concept art, build new objects and new sections of map, and reprogram the experience calculations. In short their already madly running around trying to fix the game that the old dev team released. It might be a while until everything is addressed.

Sorry if this is a little long.

EDIT: In case your curious I have been playing the game since the alpha phase, and they have definitely made massive improvements in the last few months.
