You start with 1-2 items in cash shops and then the game goes into F2P with a 50-100 items cash shops, NO THANKS!

I support cash shops for items like costumes, level up packs(for the more impatient players) and expansions alongside a hybrid F2P and subscription-based model. Naturally I'll be going subscription, but it could be a great extra source of revenue for Square-Enix, who in turn could produce better content and give more support to FFXIV long-term if done correctly.
I'm sure SE is paying careful attention to what's going on with games like Guild Wars 2, The Old Republic, and TERA.

This single idea scares me. To me, that's basically pay to win, since those people with more money than brains will be able to just buy their way to the cap. I had enough of that in Imperian, and I never want to go through it again.I support cash shops for items like costumes, level up packs(for the more impatient players) and expansions alongside a hybrid F2P and subscription-based model. This is a valid concern, but think of it this way: How many incompetent, intolerable louts have you met at high-level areas or events that played, not bought, their way through everything and are still incompetent and intolerable? You'd still avoid those players, right? You wouldn't play with these guys either. What's the difference between that and another douchy player buying his way through stuff?
Nobody loses in either scenario, but SE gains something in the latter. As long as people can get all the same abilities and whatnot through the natural course of the game(I.E. never introduce buy-only abilities), then I don't see too big of an issue.

this thread has given me the giggles about the opinion of the "P2P Onry".
I support a P2P with CASH SHOP!![]()

No thanks! This is not a crappy free to play game. :P

Rather than installing the cash shop button right in the UI, I had idea of more... subtle approaches.
The game may go P2P to encourage new player (admit it, F2P IS successful these days), but to fully enjoy the game, you need to take monthly subscription. Here the few things that I had in mind:
1. People who play for free will not get Resting bonus upon sleeping in their Inn Room.
2. A new shop called "Boutique" is installed in each cities in Eorzea. These shop will offer new & un-tradeable fashion items each week that is available to buy with crysta for free-player. But for people who subscribe, they can buy it with gil instead.
3. Remodelling feature is available to use for people who subscribe. What is remodelling feature, you ask? It is basically changing the appearance of your high lv equipment to any low lv equipment that you like. So you can have an AF armor with the appearance of Weathered Jacket if you wish....
That is several things that i had in mind. Might be adding more if I have finally attain my Warrior and Paladin job later on.
Any rant is welcome -w-/

i prefer subscription with the option of cash shop - making it Free to play will doom this game with more unwanted RMT
i dont see it ruining the game if its only for costumes and pets as long as it doesnt sell items that make players OP like STR%-VIT% cards buffs players for 30 days with extra exp
