Cash Shop Items for FFXIV possible future update?

*facepalm* I used that as an example. It's stupid the amount of real money gamers will throw at their screens for digital items. Look at f@#$% facebook games. Granted, they are welcome to do whatever the f@#$ they want to with their money. But I don't want a game, THAT I'M ALREADY PAYING FOR, to have MORE DIGITAL ITEMS to pay for.

I dunno if you noticed this, but one of the biggest appeals of MMOs are items, gear and weapons. Vanity or otherwise. So making the items cost EXTRA in this mmo would ruin the experience for me, and I'm sure a lot of other players.

I don't give a s@#$ how cheap it is.

I am strongly against this, I don't like having to pay RM for items in a game. The whole point of the game imo is to work, in game, towards those things. But alas, thats just me.

Would be nice if they add cash shop items like:

A-Costumes for your character.

B-Pets: your personal (Moogle)

C-Costumes for your Chocobo.

Look, at least on these forums and on this Thread, your ARE the minority. Speaking your Opinion is fine.. but Pursuing it into trying to "MAKE" people change their minds is wrong. especially when your outnumbered on it.

Anyways, Keep everything in-game and get those same "Vanity whatever" items by earning them in-game ( quest/mission/mob drop etc). If you bought something that's 20 bucks that you "can't get in the game" and the next person doesn't want to pay for it because they rather "earn" it then "buy" it, its completely unfair.

You can get the same things in-game by earning. Some people are just to lazy to get it themselves in-game.

In TERA there was a nightmare mount sold for $25 dollars in the cash shop.

A week later, EME held an egg event that let players get it for FREE in game. Those that bought the mount felt cheated that players in the game got the mount without spending money (EME continued to sell the mount during the event)

^This is something I'd like to avoid.

Everyone being able to have EQUAL opportunity without having to BUY their way into getting content and items that should already be available in a game, is what I LIKE about P2P mmos like this. FFXIV and FFXI seem to be the only games going strong without having to manipulate players into buying from a cashshop for things that should already be in a game's data.

Cashshops destroy character worth - buying stuff for real currency ruins the barrier that made the game immersive.

Instead of going woooooaaah such a cool mount how did you /raise/find/make that? It's instead god dammit, the cash shop again - I wish I had that but I dont want to pay 30$... what a rip... This ruins what makes FF a FF game. They make a fantastical word that draws you in - lets not have reason to be drawn back out.

But a matter of gaming etiquette , and in my opinion company morals - they should not. Cash shops belong to F2P, I picked FFXIV because it wasnt F2P - there is a great post about payment methods somewhere in this thread, everyone should read it (and you cant miss it - its like two pages long).

Cash shops are essentially a way for them to make money beyond the subscription fees. The issues I have with cash shops are the types that have "pay to win". If it was purely aesthetic items, I wouldn't have a single issue with it, it's your choice if you wish to buy an outfit, or a fancier mount. As long as they aren't selling like "exp scrolls" or "have double the hp/mp/" and you get the idea, things that could essentially break the game...

Just my two cents...
