Maybe you're just low in comprehension? It was perfectly clear, new players can choose new or old servers and you can't move your current character to a new server initially which is a smart move but you can make a new character there no problem.

What no moving?! Boo!! Get it running guys!

Especially because of these server locations it would be cool to be without limits like in XI. Just put a timer not a money cost to it like in Tera.

it was just the way that one sentence was worded. i didnt think that was what it meant. thanks for clearing it up!

They will split the current servers based on their data centers jp/eu/us. They will most likely offer free transfers for X amount of time ( my guess 2-3 months ). At the same time they will open new servers for each of the data centers and will NOT allow transfers. Why would they? Its for new characters without inflation or items from 1.0.

There's also a chance they will never allow 1.0 characters into the new server making it an only 2.0 server.

But people will be able to transfer but only to the old 1.0 servers. There is no way they will allow new servers to be transferred into (there would be no reason to even open new servers then)

When did they ever say existing people will be able to transfer to existing servers right at the start of ARR?

Obviously that's the logical way to do things but they've never said anything on it and kind of avoided it too. It's better to ask questions instead of assuming that they'll do the right thing - what if they will not allow existing users to transfer to Any server until 3 months after ARR launches? (stuck in a regional server that's not in your region for 3 months)

Given that they have not announced how they're going to handle existing servers, they're probably still planning on how they want to do it. But this thing started with a rep comment giving out new information regarding player transfers. They should consider either giving a complete view of the information or not giving out any info at all.

(My tone is a bit harsh but it's towards SE, not you. They've already lost trusts from the players because of the first release and now they're playing this guessing game?? They need to understand sometimes no info is better than incomplete info)

Right, well I probably don't need to repeat the concerns that people have about being stuck on a server in the wrong region for any period of time. Suffice to say, that's kind of a big one.

My other concern is what's going to happen as far as a roleplaying server goes, assuming Yoshi-P still plans on introducing one for A Realm Reborn. I highly doubt the existing roleplaying community is going to want to abandon it's characters to play on an official roleplaying server, and sticking with the ones we have for x weeks / months is time that could be spent engaging with and building up a new RP community with the people coming in for ARR.

Is there any way you could find out just how long we'll have to wait before we can move our existing characters, Camate?
