Maybe you're just low in comprehension? It was perfectly clear, new players can choose new or old servers and you can't move your current character to a new server initially which is a smart move but you can make a new character there no problem.lol with each "clarification" it seems to get more and more confusing. now it sounds like new players are only able to create new chrs on the existing worlds instead of the new worlds, existing player will be able to create new chr's on the new worlds but existing chr cannot transfer for this suspended amount of time. this is messed... lol

it was just the way that one sentence was worded. i didnt think that was what it meant. thanks for clearing it up!
Do existing worlds remain in Japan? or will some of them become non Japan based (using a NA or EU data center)?Greetings!
I have a bit of follow up information in regards to world selection when A Realm Reborn begins.
For those of you that have friends that are not currently playing and you would like them to play with you, rest easy knowing that new players will be able to select the existing worlds instead of the newly created worlds. However, in the case that there is a large amount of people who come back to the game and the world reaches it population cap, the regular rules will apply and there is a possibility that we will suspend new character creation on these worlds.
Also, for current players, it will be possible to create a new character on the new worlds. However, existing players will not be able to move to these new worlds for a certain period of time.
Moreover, what happens to existing players that would like to be on a world close to where they live at the beginning of ARR?

I don't know why people are freaking out over this. It's simple really.
They will split the current servers based on their data centers jp/eu/us. They will most likely offer free transfers for X amount of time ( my guess 2-3 months ). At the same time they will open new servers for each of the data centers and will NOT allow transfers. Why would they? Its for new characters without inflation or items from 1.0.
There's also a chance they will never allow 1.0 characters into the new server making it an only 2.0 server.
But people will be able to transfer but only to the old 1.0 servers. There is no way they will allow new servers to be transferred into (there would be no reason to even open new servers then)

When did they ever say existing people will be able to transfer to existing servers right at the start of ARR?I don't know why people are freaking out over this. It's simple really.

Obviously that's the logical way to do things but they've never said anything on it and kind of avoided it too. It's better to ask questions instead of assuming that they'll do the right thing - what if they will not allow existing users to transfer to Any server until 3 months after ARR launches? (stuck in a regional server that's not in your region for 3 months)
Given that they have not announced how they're going to handle existing servers, they're probably still planning on how they want to do it. But this thing started with a rep comment giving out new information regarding player transfers. They should consider either giving a complete view of the information or not giving out any info at all.
(My tone is a bit harsh but it's towards SE, not you. They've already lost trusts from the players because of the first release and now they're playing this guessing game?? They need to understand sometimes no info is better than incomplete info)
Then what's the point of creating regional servers? If you're creating regional servers then at least give us the opportunity to get onto them without problems.Greetings!

Am just hoping that when transfers happen people from 1.0 should not be able to transfer to New Servers, i mean the idea of new servers is so people can start fresh and get an economy from the ground, it would kill the purpose if they allow people from other server that come from 1.0 to come flow the market with gil or stuff and when i mean should not be able i mean at all, they are saying that for an amount of time i just hope its not allowed at ALL~!!!

What no moving?! Boo!! Get it running guys!
Especially because of these server locations it would be cool to be without limits like in XI. Just put a timer not a money cost to it like in Tera.
Is there any way you could find out just how long we'll have to wait before we can move our existing characters, Camate?
