    DoL: Hamlet tips?

    Hey all,

My Fishing is almost at 50 (still a bit away, but pretty close!) and was wondering if anyone could give some tips on what they do during Hamlet defense, as I would like to at least try it out a few times.

Its the one job I often see shouted for the most, however I cant really seem to locate any in depth guides for fishing.

seems like DoL just run around and collect pots to turn in?

    All Red = Attack Down
All Blue = HP Down (DoT)
    All Green = Sleep
One of each = Enmity Reset

At these pots random? how does this work?

DoL jobs don't actually Fish/Log/Mine, they just collect pots.

It's the same for all three DoL: First make sure you have ~70 gathering, and if you want having a broken lv. 1 weapon helps with points

There are 6 pots on each map, split into groups of 3. Each set of three has a red, blue, and green pot. The pot colors can change in the next run so don't get used to where a certain color is.

So, you'll have a pot with a shiny node at the top, and when you click on it your character will proceed to gather a sanguine (red), melancholy (green), or phlegmatic (blue) humor. Make sure that you aren't standing too close or in the line of sight of nearby enemies or they'll aggro you and you will either not be able to gather or will drop your pot. You can hide behind rocks, fences, and other stuff to help with this (it works!). So, you gather your pot, the shiny node goes away, and you run and turn it in to the quartermaster.

One very important thing is that only 5 pots at a time will be active. This meaning, only 5 of the 6 pots on the map will have that shiny node on the top, one of them won't be showing the node and you won't be able to gather from it. But! As soon as any other pot on the field is gathered you'll be able to use it again. So, the last pot gathered won't be active. This is important when you're working in a team with 1 or more other DoL, if you have a good rhythm going, one person will be gathering from a pot just as another is running to the quartermaster, and so on. Also important if you're solo or your team mate(s) can't get to their pot, you can just gather from one of the other colors to force the one you want to pop.

The person who hands in the third pot in a set to the quartermaster will also be taking hate from some of the mobs, so keep that in mind whenever you're that guy.

Your ATK down (all red) should never ever ever ever go down, it's very important as it makes healing easier and keeps the hamlet defense guys alive. This stacks, so you can keep on refreshing it and it'll give you some leeway in case the next set is a little slow.

Sleep (all green) is pretty useless; if your group wants the extra points from doing every type of set at least once just make sure that you don't do it when there are a bunch of enemies focused on one of the carts, because they'll all wake up at that one guy and probably kill him.

HP down (all blue) is a DoT and you'll be using it a few times at the beginning/end, and maybe in the middle. The special mobs (ones with special-looking weapons) can't be around if you want to get the bonus from letting hamlet defense guys kill them, otherwise you run the risk of losing points because they were killed by the DoT. But this set is very helpful at the very start and at the end when big waves without any specials are around.

Hate Reset (one of each) is great with DoL because you can do it so much faster than DoH, but I've noticed that a lot of statics are DoH-heavy so they just have them do it anyway. But this varies; if your group wants you to do hate resets you pretty much just do your regular routine of ATK down until ~19:00 on the clock, then you're gonna prepare the hate reset (only put two pots up and hold on to the last), wait for the message "Enemies Change Focus of Attack!" or something, and then turn in your pot to finish the hate reset. You should have just enough time to finish another set (usually a red, since it's so important to have that ATK down) before you need to get things ready for another hate reset. The focus change is on ~1m timer or so, so if you're going at a good pace you should be ready for every focus change or just after.

I think that's it! Be fast, be very very fast ;D

    Awesome, thanks for that.

Great information, I was alittle confused for awhile on how it worked.

My only question, is can you only carry one pot at a time? Yes I would imagine.

Yeah only one at a time, you can replace the color you're carrying though

and if the other DoL is running away from aggro you, if you are on rrr for example and got r1 turned in while the other is running and is stuck: you can grab another pot near your red, blue for example, then your red will pop and you can go turn it in to keep things running
