Can we have it back?
Can we have it back?
So you can see that there's less than 100 people online?
I still miss it.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
I think the reason it was removed is because it gave their competitors a good idea of how many people were playing FFXIV and they didn't want that.
No. The reason they got rid of it are for the following reasons.
#1 Websites were posting the declining population.
#2 It is discouraging to see declining population.
Now, you only feel the decline rather than seeing the actual numbers.
Idk, I agree that I miss that function. But what about updating it slightly. For instance, when you log on your caracter, it says "welcome to XYZ, Welcome to Eorzea. There are X people your physical level range" (give or take say 3 levels).
That way, you know the number given isnt mostly top enders, although if you are a top ender, im sure that figure would be encouraging lol.
oh and..
Seriously, why are you even here? No. The reason they got rid of it are for the following reasons.
#1 Websites were posting the declining population.

Yawn...
The obvious answer has already been stated. Can we move on?
You don't need a "/sea" command to see with your own eyes (by playing the actual game) that this game is not doing very well. Removing /sea was a PR move, and no doubt a good one if you care at all about newcomers' (and competitors') impressions of the game.
However, removing anything doesn't change the fact that there are not enough people playing this game, right now. If anything, they need to add new things (and I keep this vague because the actual meaning is still quite ambiguous, even 6 months after release). Adding more stuff to do as well as improving the combat system are probably the most important things for them to do at this point, IMO. Then they can worry about tweaking the numbers on everything![]()
Its never a good sign when they suddenly prohibit you from seeing how many players are on, but i think we already knew that.
