    Edit: another one, increase a helpful stat every time you loot dark matter (to a cap amount based on level of dark matter) - once the cap is reached your chance of loot is increased (doubled?) - reset stats to base and loot % once non darkmatter loot rewarded (stats also lose a buff stack on de-equiping - would have to be a level 1 all classes ring then (otherwise changing classes would kill it)).
    Sort of complex but it would promote using the item for those dark matter chests (where you got its hilarious name from) and would also promote wearing it afterwards as well.
