Final render looks great.

Rendering was done in Zbrush (several passes) and composited, graded, and touched up in Photoshop.

The images around the outside of the ring are scenes from FFI:

Around the backside is: Marilith with the Fire crystal, The meeting with Bahamut, Kraken with the Water crystal, the Mirage Tower, Tiamat with the Wind Crystal, and the Battle with Chaos.

These details are likely too small for the in-game model (perhaps just the 4 fiends could be featured), but I wanted to include them in my rendition~

Hopefully the stats carry the ring as much as the lore does.

Boosting Map discovery will be a nice bonus when we get to explore 2.0, and a bonus to 'Luck' (that is, increasing our RNG odds) would be a welcome addition to those doing events like hamlet, farming for HQ materials, or even multi-melding.

Nice 1. So thats how you managed the detail. I'm assuming they were custom brushes with the images you posted?

Mine was done in vray with 3dsmax. I didnt wanna overcomplicate my ring since it wouldnt be feasable in game (not making excuses lol). But i'm rooting for your ring to win. It deserves it with the thought process. I should learn zbrush when I have the time haha

I'd recommend you try it if you get the chance. It's certainly a different discipline in model creation. The UI can be a bit of a hurdle, but you can do some amazing stuff with it once you get comfortable with it.

BTW, Good choice on vray, it's a great renderer. the raytracing on refractions is very nice (as your ring shows).

wow this is a gorgeous ring...omggg I want one in RL!!!
