When they say carbuncle is a tank I'm pretty sure they refer to the solo arcanist.

It's going to replace WAR as the highspeed damage dealing tank class that keeps hate using debuffs. WAR will now be used to heal the party with AoE bloodbath that scales with PIE.

That woud break the game and cause peopel to leave. Doubt SE is that stupid. Not that their has ever been any info stating that.

Sure carby can tank a spider or 2.

A carbuncle is just a pet, not a god from a beastmen tribe ^^
