Arcanist/ Summoner the new Hybrid class?

As well all know Yoshida took dev team and made them play popular MMOs like World of Warcraft. Previous Arcanist/Summoner leak thread got me thinking about summoner as a hybrid class like the druid in WoW. With the new information on carby being able to tank or cast got me excited. Maybe SE read my post? ha.

My previous thoughts

I don't think it would be hard to balance at all. It would be like Druid for World of Warcraft.

Just an example (and I know that primals are off the list)

Carbuncle/Resto=Healer
Titan/Feral=Tanking
Shiva/Boomkin=Caster
and so on.

Put a restriction like a 1min Cooldown for casting a avatar. Summoner would be like a Swiss army knife where you can do a little of everything but not as good as casters/melee/tanks.

My ideas now for the class, with enfeeble spells, will give the caster a lot of versatility that correlates with the summoned pet . Imagine with me if you had Titan out as a Tank. Titan would have his on personal actions and your job as the summoner is to use enfeeble spells to debuff/enhance Titans actions. For example:

Summoner cast enfeeble spell to weaken the mob to earthen spells. Titans would use "quake" to grab all aggro around him. The enmity would be greater for Titan for the enfeeble spell you casted on the mob.

So, for each summoned pet you had out you would have to switch up your actions for that said summon. I dunno its an idea.

The only way I could see them being tanks is just having your primals being the attacked target while your in the back, so basically any primal could be a tank even if it's something small like Carbuncle.

When they say carbuncle is a tank I'm pretty sure they refer to the solo arcanist.

Carbuncle tank is likely for solo or possibly even small parties which may or may not have one lol.

It sounds slightly like it's going in the direction of Aion's Spiritmaster slightly, which is great. Very versatile class. Basically each summon/spirit/pet is going to have a particular role it is meant for. I doubt they'll ever be able to fully replace a proper tank or healer in full parties and end-game events but they'll likely suffice for leveling and smaller stuff.

It's going to replace WAR as the highspeed damage dealing tank class that keeps hate using debuffs. WAR will now be used to heal the party with AoE bloodbath that scales with PIE.

That woud break the game and cause peopel to leave. Doubt SE is that stupid. Not that their has ever been any info stating that.

Sure carby can tank a spider or 2.

...But Thaumaturge and and Conjurer are hybrids of each other as well, Smn just seems to be following by example.
