Welcome the new Assistant Director for FFXIV: ARR

Yeah before you reply to this post take a little detour to the scary realm known as the internet and view some of the top game review sites such as Destructoid and Kotaku (yeah Kotaku) or pretty much any other review site praising ARR. Perhaps you didn't notice that not only was ARR nominated for best PC game at Gamescom it beat The Last of Us on a community choice award by over 3x the score. All over the place comments and reviews praise Yoshida as being an incredibly competent director in the MMO business.

Those are not the Final Fantasy XIV forums, and those places previously poked fun of XIV at every opportunity up until now.

Yeah top gaming sites like kotaku Jajajaja! Funny how before they even said anything remotely good about FFXIV, everybody around here used to throw kotaku under the bus... And really it beat the last of us.... Did it beat GW2 ???

Yes, it did. And the reason we're talking about Kotaku is, they made a complete 180°. They went from saying the game was the crappiest crap on the planet, to praises Yoshi-P for turning the game around.

Kotaku never said anything good about XIV up until recently, and now they're coloured impressed, along with a lot of their posters. As for beating Guild Wars 2, it won the award did it not? Last I checked if something wins an award and comes out in first place anything below first place is considered "beaten" but if there is some hidden rule I'm not aware of you may proceed to educate me on it.

Guild Wars 2 wasn't even on the initial list but players voted for it anyway using "Other".

Cuz, you know... players voting on their favorite game to win an award (a COMMUNITY AWARD that happened to win by active players here linked to the voting poll) means an entire site is saying good things about it... yea, that totally makes sense.

Y'know what I hate? When someone goes around saying sh*t like this. This is not the first time you've said it either. You make tons of claims but never support them. GWII is a different game. Let it be it's own game. Let FFXIV be it's own game. They can both be successful without having the other fail.

My claim supports itself.... Was GWII or MOP in the poll ? What you say no ? Really ? Hmm!

Also nobody is talking about XIV being like or alike GWII... What are you talking about now ?

As Gramul said, good. They're less grindy than Ys games at certain points so I don't see anything bad.
