I remember when everyone was crying about jobs because "things like Ifrit will be hard without Sentinel, it might be better going as classes for it".

But yeah classes solo have a lot more survivability than jobs, that is the point of keeping them.
I've never had to switch to a class to solo and I've leveled everything. Just sayin'.

Even if you could switch to your lnc, throw on the skills you mentioned, and solo some crazy hard stuff *which as far as I know isn't the case*; I still wouldn't support the class system. You could just find ways to exploit the job system for soloing hnms instead, like we did with rdm or nin/dnc in FFXI. Unless your soloing level 61 vanguards on your LNC or something who cares. Drg works fine for soloing normal mobs for the occasions that you actually need to solo stuff.

Long story short: FFXIs job system was better.
