It all depends what the collab contract with fall guys is really.
Odds are it's set up this way to easily track what the player increase was during the collab period. To see if it was worth it pretty much.

There is a point, yes. If you make it permanent, people will be too sparse and the excitement would die off. This way people have something to look forward to once a year.

Yeah but this is a cool general activity for the Gold Saucer. Remove the Fall Guys themeing, re-theme it to be about Lopporit, and then make it quasi-permanent. Like all GATEs, it's up intermittently in the GS.

I don't think I've ever heard someone say something positive about the Fall Guys collab.

The discourse around it consists almost exclusively of either people who don't understand how the game works complaining about snapshotting, or people who grind achievements complaining about the absurdity of the devs expecting them to grind this awful event for 100+ hours when it hands you all of the meaningful rewards within 30 mins.
