you must have been playing warhammer online and confused it for tera or something, because tera is beautifully animated. also, another awful example- animation lock in tera is fully intended due to the specific way combat works in the game. no other MMO has combat like it.

    i don't think you've actually played it.

Funny, I thought XIV was designed with a similar concept.

I have played it. Half of the reason the combat felt so slow paced (in an action MMO might I add) was because you were horribly grounded for half of your abilities, and Animation lock made lancer a very ineffectual tank for a lot of high level BAMs.

And yeah, let's not get into the whole "Tera has beautiful animations" thing, that's enough of a joke as it is. Half of your torso would swing a sword whilst your legs walked in place.

i can provide examples of MMOs that emphasized movement and gameplay over hyper realistic animations and physics that were successful. can you provide examples of MMOs that emphasized hyper realistic animations and physics over movement and gameplay that were successful?

can you provide examples of MMOs that provided both? and were they successful?

unless you could do this, look in the mirror before attempting to hang the mantle of ignorance on another.

You're shooting in the wrong direction, Tex. I'm calling your statements about my supposed stance on game development ignorant, that's it. Not once did I bring up anything to do with sales or other games.

The gameplay videos look as if they've thrown all of that way and replaced it with a standard MMO movement system (With the typical, really awkward back pedaling motion) and everything looks choppy and weightless

Perhaps it's simply alpha footage, but I have a feeling this was an intended design change
I said the same thing a few weeks ago but nobody listen to me. It's sad really...

I hope I see Migote running like cat people and not humans with tails glued on or in cat suits. Put the huntched shoulders raised cat run back in.

I think you can add realistic momentum into a fluidly animated game. Guild Wars 2 has managed it very well. Whilst it doesn't have great animations for every race, the Asura's (small people) stopping and starting animations are really well done.

GW2 is the most terrible example for animations, graphics and natural movement.. and character proportions. . you cant be serious.

Lalafell animations more relastic than -> Asura animations.. that been said.

i think the miq'uote walking has some kind of cat movement ... in a human way.

next step is that you ask for elezens to fly like little bats with their ears, eh? ;XD or the miq'uote moving on their 4 feets like Charrs in GW2 eh? ;XD
