Suggestion: Instanced Airship Battles, Quests, Smuggling?

Hello Dev Team,

Back in 2004 when I started playing FFXI, I found it fascinating that we could do quests relating to flying on the airships (finding people, items, or even smuggling contrabands for the Consortiums). There were even the pirate battles on the Selbina-Mhaura sea ship.

It brought a believable dynamics to the game and although I do like the instant cutscenes system employed here in FFXIV, perhaps in 2.0, we can have an option to choose which makes us engage in airship related quests, missions and battles?

I know it has been suggested hundreds of times on the forum boards that airship battles of some sort should be implimented... and I agree that it will be excellent to be able to also actually fight the Garleans aboard their own ships.

But bringing in more options to interact with other players or NPCs on the airships should help bring some "life" to this element of the game. And for the gazillionth time... Give us personal airships!!!
