If they take away RDM's Raise entirely (I'll take a nerf but I won't like it) I will consider quitting the game. That's why I'm still terrified about seeing the evolved job Live Letter.

RDM raising is kinda part of its identity, and I would agree because RDM could do that in previous games and it was always useful back then.
But summoner raise seems completely arbitrary and just a holdover from the whole arcanist thing. I don't understand why stuff from 2.0 (or was it even 1.0?) should still be dictating how the game plays. The reason why summoner raise is problematic is because red mage raise needs to be more impactful than it because red mage needs to be seen as more of a pseudo white mage than summoner is. Unless we start getting into the weeds and talk about Phoenix which in theory should be an extremely powerful healer lb3 type of situation but obviously it can't because of game balance but that begs the question why was it chosen as a summon in the first place over more iconic ones like Ramuh/Shiva/Odin.
I say let's remove summoner raise (and replace Phoenix as well). Then modify Red Mage raise to be a "normal" raise such that you can't throw out like 4 of them under a minute. Give it a cooldown of like 60 seconds.
This sounds awful, "sorry I couldn't help save the run, I spent my officially ordained raise allocation picking up the healers earlier", worse still if it's a partywide limit. Is heal LB3 locked because a few people needed picking up along the way?
Edit: Not meaning to sound hostile, rather incredulous.
Oh boy, more job homogenization so people can chase their parses, my favorite. Gag.
I don't think the caster raises should be removed, but RDM should not be able to dualcast it.
its a good thing you aren't designing ff14 or else it would suck
i think removing verraise or significantly kneecapping it/making it a role action like you suggested would cause me to immediately lose faith in the direction of the game and its job design to the point of quitting altogether. you know what verraise is? its something rdm has that it uniquely does well, sets it apart from other jobs, and is a selling point of the job. in other words, it's this neat little thing that the community loves to talk about how much we want and its called "Job Identity." this exact thing of sanding down everything that makes jobs unique from one another so that you can chase good parses or whatever is part of the reason evolved mode was even necessary in the first place.

Well it works fine in other games. Rezzes are usually limited inside one combat unit of in particular tougher content. You can't just "rezz through it".
That's... the whole point, though?
I think Dps raise will be gone with Evercold and only healers will keep it.
That SMN will lose rez has been said multiple times and Verraise will likely be gone, too.
If not then Verraise should get nerfed and put on a 180sec cd or something like that.

"This game should be catered specifically for me" mentality. Why do you care if someone else learns/beats a fight differently than you? If you feel so strongly about it just request that you never get rezed by any casters or make your own groups and don't invite rdms and smns. With evercol on horizon and the job revamp comming in think it's good time to do something about this problematic situation.
The problem im reffering to, I'm sure devs are aware of but I want to bring it up anyway, is how you are able to zombie thru fights to see all mechanics and stuff, clear example of that was m7s where a team got to enrage with boss on around 80%hp just by running rdm,smn comp. I understand ppl don't like bodychecks all over but at least those prevented such problems to occur. Additionaly having raise on caster inhibits bad/lazy gameplay from my experience.
I would suggest if raise is to be kept in game for casters, disable it in high end duty or make it instant cast ogcd with 5min cooldown, and additionaly put it as a role action for casters (tho i would prefer it be removed completly), and remove "raise dps tax" that clearly exists.
I understand some of you will be like "omg but my raismage class identity"... no, just stop it... I know it allows for some clutch moments in your extreme runs ect, but i'd rather have rdm doing high dmg then having raise tax.

Wouldn't this be great for blind progging if you have someone other than healers helping with people who are downed? The problem im reffering to, I'm sure devs are aware of but I want to bring it up anyway, is how you are able to zombie thru fights to see all mechanics and stuff, clear example of that was m7s where a team got to enrage with boss on around 80%hp just by running rdm,smn comp.
